Yeah, but if I pay my deductible, the insurance installs it and gives me a rental car while it's in the shop.

Hamz, don't let the insurance or a mechanic tell you it's a big job. It literally takes less than an hour to install a seat belt. Here is the best part, if your car is less than 10 years old and less than 100,000.miles you can install a broken seat belt and turn around take it to any dealer and they have to fix it for FREE. It's the law, if your state has a manditory seat belt law.

Thanks for the info. I know how to use a wrench so it's no big deal. I'm just getting old and fat and lazy... I don't really enjoy wrenching on my own stuff like I used to.

Unfortunately, it's got a bit more mileage and is a bit older than 10 years old. I did find a place to get the parts new for the price the salvage yard wants for them. I'm going to order the parts on Monday. It looks like I'll be driving my old P/U for while.

I have to check into this, I have a 2004 F150 that the driver side seat belt will not fasten. I was quoted a price of $362.00 just for the receiver side of the belt (pyrotechnic safety actuator).
You may have just saved me some coin as I was going to order the part and install it myself, already have the bad on out but I can put it back in real quick...

Look into it, i know in my state they carry a 10/100,000 warranty.

Guys i think i might be wrong on this, it looks like seat belts carry a LIFETIME warranty, per federal law. As long as they are not damaged do to an accident.

Nah, metric. All I have is SAE. I'm going to raid my brother's-in-law tool chest for his metric stuff tomorrow.
