Hey gang!
I got it!!! My first R/C... An almost new HPI MT-2!
Now to get it over here to Kosovo from the US. The nearest hobby store is about 300 miles down in Greece from where we are. So I will need to order some spare parts. Let me know what you think I might need??? Also does anyone know about how long a bottle of fuel will last on average?

There are no hobby shops in my area. A good store would do well in a city of 500,000.

many blessings to you from Kosovo.

Mark :)

You will defenitly need spare glow plugs!! Depends on how much % nitros u use but you can get about 4 tanks out of a litre feul not sure but 5 litres are about 1 gallon so that would then be 20 tanks a gallon. You will probably get 10 minutes of playing time from one tank depends on the size of your tank. As for other parts I am also new so not sure what else needs to be replaced often but would gues a spare Spur gears cause its plastic and can be damaged more easily as for the rest not sure either.

Welcome to the forum!!

Good job on the MT-2. It's a nice truck. I know you'll like it. It's a shame there's no hobby shops in your area. I would agree that spare glow plugs, extra fuel and gears would be a good idea.

Welcome to RCNT Mark.
I have an HPI MT2 also, have run about a gallon thru it, so far I have broken nothing!
As far as spare parts go, look at having a spur gear or two around, dog bones, and maybe a set of ball studs and cups for the upper susp arms and steering links.

outside of that and glow plugs, i can't think of anything.

Thanks for the advise!
What type of glow plugs should i get? I noticed their are cold, medium, and hot. Is the nitro to be mixed with other fuel?

The glow plugs will depend on the manufacturer of the engine, but generally, medium should do the trick (but I could be wrong). As for the fuel, at least here in the States, it comes pre-mixed so I assume it will there. Personally, I'd go with a fuel with 20% nitro.

In addition to the above mentioned spur gears and like, a set of body posts, body clips, some after-run oil (make sure you put the piston at BDC when storing), blue thread locker, wheel nuts and maybe an extra set of wheels/tires are a good idea as well. My philosophy is, order as much upfront and you won't have to wait on little things!

Have a blast and post some pic's running it with the kids! I'm sure we'd all like to see them!

Hi ya all!
How often on average do glow plugs need to be changed?
What is a recomended on line parts supplier for HPI?

Thanks again!!

there isnt really a lifespan on a plug.. change it when it doesn't work any more.. if your truck starts getting hard to start the check it.. take it out and plug it into your ignitor, make sure all the coils are glowing bright.

as for online I'm not sure if the guys on this forum ship overseas but check them out.. they got just as good of prices as anyone else. check out rushrc or one of the others. also towerhobbies or some other online shop.
