I just installed a lift kit on a buddies jeep for next to nothing and he has a T-Max that he said I can buy for half the price that they go for here. It is the new Max with the wider Proline suspension that he put on. There is a poop load of spare parts aswell. I am gong to check it out this weekend. What must I look for if I decide to buy it?

have him run it up...then check the compression when it's hot...um, maybe ask who works on the car...how many tanks or gallons has it been through. any problems (could tell you his craftsmanship)...have a look over the truck to see just the condition of everything...hmmm...

The truck is practicly new. But then again I want a SAVAGE! new in the box. That 21 engine just looks cool with the longest shocks I have seen on a MT

Sorry, but you gotta make up your mind now. Once that T-Maxx gets sold, it aint coming back for you. Right now, you have to choose between a New Savage and a Used T-Maxx. If you have the money, check em both out!
You should check the compression if you have one of those guages, another thing to check is, the gears and how worn they are. You should take it for a spin and use your own judement on it. It is your money! You probably can't go wrong with either choice, a New Savage is really nice! So is a 1/2 off T-Maxx!
