Hi there having problems tuning this hyper 8 port race engine. seems its ok when on the cold side 200 degrees but when it exceeds 250 degrees its jetting starts to change. The engine will get hotter to 300-320 degrees and loose power . Then I richen it to keep temp down and it will stall when the throttle is squeezed to full .I suspect this is a common problem with this composite carb. Still under warranty. (mistake, mistake) Any help is great. I am an accomplished tuner. So please don't tell me its the settings.
All settings are adjusted when the engine is at 220-250 degrees.

what kind of car/truck do you have this in? do you have a realy big tank? you could just be having the half tank leanout...

oh yeah btw from what i know i always thought composite carbs are better because unlike metal it doesn't heat up causing ur engine run lean

Same here on the composite carbs. I always thought that was the purpose to keep the temps more stable than aluminum.
I have the Regular Hyper 8 port and I dont know how similar tuning is, but I noticed that I had to really lean the low end more than I would have thought and then richen up the top to keep the temps stable. She seems to be running and maintaining the temps great now. Just a thought :)

From what I understand it is kinda hit and miss when it comes to getting a good carb on the Hyper. I know alot of people wind up installing an OS slide carb and it really works well. Imbroken has done that to his and I have yet to break mine in well enough to know if I will have to do the same. But all and all I love the engine for the money. I picked mine up new on eBay for $107 bucks

The stall at full throttle is probably due to over-richening the engine and killing it with fuel.

As for the other problems, what pipe are you running and what vehicle is this on?

I have one of those in my pcr...Try richening up the low end. My low end was on the lean side and it ran ok, but hot as hell. Now the low end is set, it is perfect strong on the low end and not too shabby on the top end too!
