Check this out! This guys building a custom truggy out of Revo suspension. Very interesting!

On that topic.. whats the difference between the Revo's tranny, and a "Truggy" trany? Aren't they both 2spd? TRX now offers a diff setup for the trans, so that fixes that... I'm kinda lost about this part here, thats why I ask. Truggy's have a lower CG and ofcourse flat chassis - personally I love the Revo's chassis.

Truggies do not run a 2 speed tranny, they have a center dif. The center dif kit for a Revo is not the same as it still runs inside a gear reduction transmission. I think the conversion this guy is making will be too narrow, kinda like the old MSR conversion for the Mugen MBX5.

So 1/8th buggies/truggies are single speed huh? Just straight to a diff? Anybody try robbin one from a buggy and mounting it on the revo, see how it works? Wouldn't using some off-set wheels do the trick? Are they much wider than MTs? I always thought 1/8th truggies were the same width/length as a 1/8th MT.

Track width on a mugen MBX5T is 354mm (that is lower outside edge of the carrier to lower outside edge of the opposite carrier), the Revo is going to fall short of that unless it uses a +6mm extension and offset wheels, 40's at that. I recall reading somewhere that some had said going slightly longer with the 3.3 chassis and the extended arms was enough to upset the handling on the car by it being too long and narrow. As far as the dif, you'd have to rig up some sort of setup to hold the dif and where it will be driven off the mill and then there's the drive shafts.
