Dude are you on crack! You are insane, when did any one of those hurricanes cross Boca Raton? Or even come close? I live in northern Highlands county, almost on the borderline of polk county, two of those named storms, as well as one ya missed crossed over me, one eye missed me by 20 miles, one by about 50, and one spent 5 hours sitting on my house. How many roofs were peeled up in Boca? All but three in my neighborhood were. How many days were you without power? Me, 7 days the first time, three the next and 5 on the last one. How long were the gas lines in Boca? try 3-4 hours here with a $20 limit. 2-3 hour waits in line for Home depot to get batteries and fuel cans. 100 cars in line to get two bags of ice. Okechobee is 45 min south of me and they had nothing, Boca is 2 hours south of Okeechobee, if you even got rain that was a lot. Get real, and consider yourself lucky.!
Ivan, missed all of the state but the panhadle...is Boca in the panhandle...NO
Jeanne, came straight across Sebring and Avon Park in Highlands county...is Boca in highlands county...NO
Charlie, first one last year, it went through Punta Gorda, then Wachula, 20 miles from me, in Highlands County...is Boca any where near Highlands County... again No
Cindy was not even a Hurricane, it was merely a Tropical Storm that also went in near Pensacola in the Pan Handle...I think we already established Boca is not in the pan handle
and Denis, when you posted you had been in 5 hurricanes Dennis had still not yet made landfall in the states, and when it did, it was once again the panhandle.
But with all these names you forgot one Frances, which also crossed Highlands county but this time coming in near Vero beach and spending 36 hours crossing the state.
So mr Boca, get your facts straight before spouting off.
