This alone is reason enough to hate Florida. a lot of people are gonna be in a real bad way, real soon, trust me I know first hand. This is the most recent pic of Dennis and it is continuing to intesify. Thank God it looks as though I am safe from this one, but our friends in the panhandle, as well as Alabama are not going to be so lucky.

I live in Cape Coral, bout 20miles due south of Charley. I got a new roof, now still dealing with no ceilings, one bathroom, and mold.(mold remediation to continue July25).

As far as Florida, it ROCKS!!! Been here 27 years( from Minnesota) and not leaving.Boating, fishing, beaches, bikinis and of course R/C all year round.

Moskitos are nothing compared to Minnesota, I remember being in Northern MN and seeing a moskito with a tick on each leg. No thats BIG!!!!!

If you hate Florida so bad, LEAVE and take a friend.

I feel bad for the panhandle, but a relief it didnt come here.

i would love to live in northern cali when I'm older but growing up in raliegh and all my family on the east coast could be difficult to visit them frequently.

Ya ain't missin much, amigo. I'm constantly hiding from sasquatch - Keeps sayin I gots a right purdy mouth and he's gonna make me squeel like a pig... Wait, that's a bad flashback from Deliverence....

Anyways, We have to deal with fires, earthquakes, bears, and the occasional rabid racoon up here (I'm up near Oregon). I'd trade those in a flash, if it weren't for the hurricanes.

Besides, California's gonna fall into the ocean in a few years anyways - stay where it's safe, the californians' will all be running towards you.

What an ignorant statement. Am I not entitled to my opinion? I will stick by my sentiments...Florida sucks and is way over rated.

Maybe you skipped over the rest of the thread to post that. I stated my reasons why I am here, to be with family. I merely stated my reasons, and all quite valid as to why I hate Florida, I personally attacked no one, and you want to turn it in to a personal attack, and tell me to leave? Really mature there buddy, grow up!

sorry, didnt mean to offend.

I am just tied of people saying how bad Florida is, and how great it is up north. So I tell em to head north and take a friend.

The things you mentioned as to why Florida "ROCKS" are all trivial. How bout the low wages, high cost of living, hurricanes that destroy lives, homes, dreams. But beaces, boats, fishing, and bikinis, yeah that's a better reason to live in Florida.

Had you just stated your reasons you like Florida rather than bash those that don't, telling them to "LEAVE" you would have made a much better point, and offended no one.

Just a few hours from landfallLatest on Hurricane Dennis from weather.com

I have noticed alot of emergency workers were stationed here yesterday, now getting ready to go help after the Mennis passes.

Anyone notice any price gouging going on?

I think I did, filled up with gas 8am price is $2.35/gal, came home @3pm price$2.41.

yes, you are correct. I should have stated my reasons for liking Fl and not bash those you are not happy here.Sorry

I wasn't offended...I just wish his invitation to leave came w/ the means to do it....lol....wl6 you aren't a family lawyer by any chance are you????

You are INSANE if you think there are only three moskitos in the whole state. I live on the water and there are three moskitos per square inch. They also carry encaphalitis, as well as a number of other diseases. I would love to know where in Florida you are that there is only three moskitos?

5 hurricanes? can you name them please?

I think something is terribly wrong with your math skills..3 moskitos in the entire state, and hit by 5 huricanes in the last year?!?!? And as far as I remember NONE of last years hurricanes hit south Florida.

Dude are you on crack! You are insane, when did any one of those hurricanes cross Boca Raton? Or even come close? I live in northern Highlands county, almost on the borderline of polk county, two of those named storms, as well as one ya missed crossed over me, one eye missed me by 20 miles, one by about 50, and one spent 5 hours sitting on my house. How many roofs were peeled up in Boca? All but three in my neighborhood were. How many days were you without power? Me, 7 days the first time, three the next and 5 on the last one. How long were the gas lines in Boca? try 3-4 hours here with a $20 limit. 2-3 hour waits in line for Home depot to get batteries and fuel cans. 100 cars in line to get two bags of ice. Okechobee is 45 min south of me and they had nothing, Boca is 2 hours south of Okeechobee, if you even got rain that was a lot. Get real, and consider yourself lucky.!

Ivan, missed all of the state but the panhadle...is Boca in the panhandle...NO

Jeanne, came straight across Sebring and Avon Park in Highlands county...is Boca in highlands county...NO

Charlie, first one last year, it went through Punta Gorda, then Wachula, 20 miles from me, in Highlands County...is Boca any where near Highlands County... again No

Cindy was not even a Hurricane, it was merely a Tropical Storm that also went in near Pensacola in the Pan Handle...I think we already established Boca is not in the pan handle

and Denis, when you posted you had been in 5 hurricanes Dennis had still not yet made landfall in the states, and when it did, it was once again the panhandle.

But with all these names you forgot one Frances, which also crossed Highlands county but this time coming in near Vero beach and spending 36 hours crossing the state.

So mr Boca, get your facts straight before spouting off.
