My HSN setting ranges between 3.5 and 3 and 3 quarters out for a happy run. Just curios what you guys needle is set at?

What engine?

On my Hyper I range between 2 and 3.5 turns out. Depends on the outside air temps.

3.75, man that's rich. My HSN is set somewhere about 3.75 or 2.5 and my LSH is about the same.

I run the stock 21BB and the HSN is out about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 turns.

My lsn is at 1.5 if I richen it up it just dies at idle and wont pull off even when hot.

It is possible that if you had, at one time, tightened it too much you may have put a ridge around the needle. This will cause it to allow more fuel to pass than it normally will if not damaged.
Just a thought.
