I have a hpi rs4 sport 3 drift car and everything is stock. After a couple runs the car starts stopping at every few feet.Battery is full charged. Also when I put on full throttle and lift up the car it runs for a very long time the motor only stops when on the ground.Does anyone know a fix to this that is free or inexpensive ? Thank you very much

setup: firebolt 15t motor
7.2v 2000mah nimh with Tamiya plug
Sc-3swp2 esc

Since its electric then it's another problem. Are you 100% sure the battery if fully charged. Symptoms say otherwise. When battery drops below a BEC voltage it acts like what you describe.

Maybe you are right since I did drop the battery a few times possibly damaging it and making it self discharge quicker but the car still runs for 10m off the ground after the issue starts.Thank you for your reply

It will run off the ground but when you put a load on it that's when the problem starts. A full battery shouldn't do this. I suggest try charging the battery again. A good slow charge overnight. C10 rate. I never fast charge my batteries. It kills them fast. If the problem continues then the ESc is the problem.

a ni xx battery will not be intermittent under a load. that will be esc and motor related. try cleaning the com on your motor check brushes and springs. Id also look at battery connections a new batt wont hurt Id venture into a lipo maybe and change battery connectors deans XT 60 ..anythang is better than a tamiya.
