My HPI Remote doesn't seem the same anymore. Ever since i changed the spur gear it has been kinda, well not the same. The spur gear has nothing to do with the problem cause i narrowed it down to the radio. This is kinda hard to explain but ill try anyways. Whenever i turn on the radio and the electronics the carb stays open. I did a lot of tuning with the idle and the throttle tuning on the actual remote and the remote tuning thing is maxed out and the carb is still almost at half throttle. i had another remote laying around so i put the crystal in that and tried it and it worked exactly how it used to. I'm pretty sure its the Remote considering that other remotes work normally. I could use the other remote but i prefer the HPI one. Does anyone now what the problem is, i have fresh batteries in the remote and in the truck also, so if anyone has any suggestions id apprectiate it.
thanks
oh and i checked all the settings on the remote like the switces that reverses the throttle and steering so that is not the problem either, i checked everything.

have you unhooked your throttle linkage/ like when replacing the gears? if so, and even if not. set your trim to zero on the remote, pull of the throttle linkage from the servo. you should also pull the filter off so you can see if the carb is closeing. turn the reciever and transmitter on when doing this. snap the servo horn and throttle linkage back on when the carb is fully closed. MAKE SURE RADIO AND RECIEVER IS ON!! you may have to do some little adjusting from the radio, but it will be real close.. let me know what happens..

okay well i was messing around with it yesterday and i found a switch that wouldnt move and it finally did move and I'm guessing it was a second channel or something, but whatever it was it worked and everything is back to normal. but if it happens again ill try what you wrote. thank you very much

that is just an adjustment for the trigger. it moves the trigger so that you get 70% throttle and 30% brake. or, 50/50. its pretty much just driver preferance. its hard to move couse there is a screw that holds it on. so it doesn't MOVE BY ITS SELF. check your linkages.

lol yes i no its held by a screw, but i never noticed when i first got it. But this seems to be working right now, but later ill put it back to normal and try fix the problem.
but what i did is alright to do right? like it wont mess with anything else?
sorry if these questions are stupid, I'm a newb lol

No question is a stupid question! Where here to learn and talk about our hobbie problems and thought. Just ask away!!:)

i agree with boutch. the only stupid question is one that is not asked.. well since you changed the trigger setting something else has to change as well. it could possibly make your brakes drag. wich could couse a hot motor. you can check that just by rolling the rig with all the power on. and the motor off. i would really sugest checking it out. if you need help just send me a pm and i will do a step-by-step.. good luck.. and keep us posted

Alright thanks guys, yeaah i noticed the brakes were a little bit different, but i tuned it all to normal so everything works well now. I'm still going to try to fix the problem from before and use this method as a second back thing or whatever its called. if i need anything ill just write back, thanks agaiin
