HPI Nitro RS4-3 Build #2

[Defiant]

I had a bunch of nitro 3 spares laying around so I decided to build another car starting with the racers edge 7076 chassis

Built a brand new rear diff, fresh bearings and new plastics

Put on brand new suspension arms, carbon shock tower, carbon fiber upper deck, Kyosho fuel tank and a hot bodies gearbox mount

The plans changed with this build and it’ll be toned down a bit.

First thing first this awesome Hot Bodies carbon fiber upper deck landed in my lap. I call it the “alien deck” as it has a cool organic look to it.

Here’s compared to the regular carbon deck

I also acquired another Kyosho fuel tank, but I feel this one fits better as the fuel line won’t have to run dangerously close to the gearing.

All the purple aluminum is gone and the screws are now black except for a few as I didn’t have replacements.

It’s still a rough draft and I plan to continue with the alien theme on this one

Updates! I completely rebuilt the 2 speed I had for it, with new gears, bearings, CVD shafts and a fiberglass brake disk.

Now I will be continuing with the alien theme

Even down to the o-rings!

Gearbox installed

You’ll notice the new green washers and stabilizer bars

Got a hpi one-way diff ready for it

Diff cups got some new o-rings

Lubed each shaft with hpi grey grease

And zipped up in a new housing

At the same time I built some factory shocks and put green springs on them, dropped in the one-way front diff and a carbon front shock tower and voila

Added some knuckles, drive shafts, turnbuckles and wheels
