Ok so I have a hpi mt2 that was so dependable that I had to dismantle it and rebuilt with a picco 26 max and a rs4 racing clutch with a 20 tooth clutch bell (vented) . Now I striped.the stock wheels from the 12mm hubs. Then bought metal hub nuts and 4 rear JATO wheels and tires . Then it fried all the tread on those tires and spins a lug nut now and then. I need tires that will hold up, wheels that won't strip and nuts that won't come loose. Any suggestions........

14/17mm hexes would be way stouter than the 12mm. Locktite on the threads to keep the nuts in place. Can't comment on rims as I've never had an engine with enough balls to strip any.:) I think RPM makes some rims that are on the cheaper side. With that name, I'd trust 'em.:)

Ok, I lock tite the studs, new nylon nuts so far so good .. then one of the new JATO tires just separated .. too much power is not a bad thing but it is getting expensive. LOL

It's not too uncommon for pre-glued tires to come off the rims, if that's what you mean. Pick up a bottle of ca glue. Quality super glue(Crazy, locktite brand) works ok, but for high power applications, you should really use the real deal. Make sure the rim seat and the tire bead are as clean as possible before gluing as well. Scuffing them with sand paper isn't a bad idea either.:)

I wonder if it would be better to buy tires, glue, and wheels and do it myself. I've so far destroyed traxxas JATO tires that were preglued , and on an on road car this happened once but I though it was because I bought cheap dynamite preglued crap from ebay.

Another solution is beadlocks. I use them on my Revo with a Picco .26. Maximizer makes a really good beadlock that isn't terribly expensive. I haven't had a tire come loose since I started using them.

Ok so the right combo is .....
New nylon nuts
Lock tite
Bead lock wheels
Now I need to know what compound tire to buy.
I like the proline hole shot tires but need a compound that won't wear out fast. I seen the m3 compound on ebay but I need the compound that I can run on asphalt and dirt.

I use Mulchers on my Revo. Decent on and off road traction. Very long wearing.
