Well just ordered the truck and this is my first brushed truck.I have2 brushless rigs and 2 nitros but for the price of this truck I had to have it my question is how do I break this motor in. I know there are a few post about it on this site but I am still a bit confused. I'm wondering if the running the motor in the cup of water way works good? It seems really effective and easy but wanted to ask before I just run my motor in water.

i didn't break mine in because i knew i would be going brushless before long anyway.......

What is a good castle setup to run on this truck that fits properly and I am looking for around 50 mph speeds nothing higher. Also with the castle systems do they all run on Lipos or can you get ones that run off NiMh and Lipos like some of the traxxas models?

The 6800 kV is what I run on both my RC18r and RC18t. Plenty of power and speed on 2s LiPo. I get ballooning tires on both. I personally think that the 8000kV motor would be too much. I've had too big engines in my Losi Micro Desert Truck and it caused more problems than it was worth.

Thanks for the good info Hamz. Any idea if the 2 different ESC's on the 6800kv combos make a speed difference.

They don't really effect the speed. It's more of the take-off. The Pro can put out more current than the Sidewinder. I run both as the Sidewinder is the original Mamba Micro.
