I have a Hpi hellfire and looking for advice as I need to replace the Axial 32 s1 engine and wondering which engine I can use

Any .21-.32 big block should fit in there without much problem. Cheap engines are hard to come by these days though. Might be able to find a decent LRP32, 30 or maybe even a 28 which would likely give you enough power and a few more RPM's than a 32 would.

A novarossi would likely work well in that:

It should. Your only real issue will be finding an exhaust gasket that fits nice when using different engines from what you have (as long as they are typical big blocks, not like the MGT or CEN .70+ heli engines). All exhaust ports aren't the same size, so a gasket that works on one may not work great on another, too thick/thin to seal well.
