HPI Engine or Drive train problems?

Hey everybody! I am new to the Nitro scene But I hope you guys will be as supportive to me as you have with everybody else! Anyways, I am having the same problem with mine and I replaced the carb with an OS 10E rotary on my 15FE. It worked awesome for the first run. Unfortunately my glow plug blew. I wasted 3 plugs but had 3 great runs. I went to the LOHS and they told me I had ran it too lean. I thought that was what the point of if? Can someone please set me straight?:fro:
 
Welcome jon2 - what do u mean by "i thought that was the point of it"? could u please elaborate?

I meant that in the instructions from HPI were implying that you want to decrease the amount of fuel so you will not flood the carb. Do you know the way to adjust the carb properly?

i do not own an hpi, i have an NTC3, but it is always better to be too rich than to lean. even with the diff carb, i would say, tune to factory break in settings and start leaning from there. u will see that comment alot in this forum, because it works. also, when tuning the HSN, tune at VERY small incriments, about 1/16th at a time, and allow several high speed runs, and AT LEAST 2 full minutes before adjusting again. i cannot count the amount of times i have seen someone unable to tune properly because of inadequate time between adjustments.

i bought the same kit is the silver spring preassembled in the clutch because mine didnt have a silver one with the other parts my cars stuck in second
