The number of cars doesn't dictate your knowledge. It just shows how many are on your shelf. Being 21 doesn't show knowledge as well. Application of knowledge and usefulness in varying situations shows your r/c prowess. Solve the situation or just get a replacement ... I choose to solve.
Stick with your current engine. Remember, speed is not determined by engine alone. You can have the best engine and equipment but when it comes to laying it down on the pavement, you can be humbled by even an RTR when driven correctly.
