Well, I have about $400 set aside for the Savage SS .28, or maybe another buggy, or maybe a Hot Bodies Stadium... that is after new appliances, a new PC for the wife, some more clothes for the kid. Damn, it's already spent and I don't even have my W2s yet. :D

I'm gonna spend it on a long overdue weekend away with my wife. Especially since we really didn't celebrate Christmas and new years since her family's crisis. If there's any left over (if I'm not penalized this year and owe the gov't), I'll probably get the new Mega ZX-12 for my serpent.

EDIT
AWWWW, forget it, I'm not gonna wait for the check ... I'll just take her asap. Just gotta wait for her to make it back from over seas.

I have no idea how much I'm going to get back this year. I had an expensive move (for work) and bought a house in august, hoping that will yield some big $$ but I really don't have a clue how much.

Some of it will go towards my new buggy fund. The rest will probably go towards my student loan so I can get that paid off. I have work take out the max so I always see a nice tax return. Speaking of which I just got my W2 Monday. Time to give Emily at H&R a call.

..might buy a SH .28 for my wifes buggy...she drives a Storm.

Same one that fell in the handbag!!!

I hear the SH .28 is awesome. I have one for my Savage waiting to be broken in.

My upstairs will get finished as a bedroom. Not much else, pay off some debt......PSI!!

Truth be told, I'm kind of a scrooge with money. As much as I could spend the whole check on RC stuff and related support equpment, I will never bring myself to do it. It feels too selfish and wasteful (maybe I'm in the wrong hobby hahaha).

Anyway, I will spend $250 on rc stuff to get the bare essetials I need to get started for next season. Because I hate credit and instrest, I'll probably put $1000 down on my only credit card (lowes card). To keep things fair, I'll give the wife $250 to do with as she pleases. The rest I'll put away for the traditional mini-vacation we take every summer to the shore (usually jersey).

The responsible side of me wants to say that I'll pay some credit and sock some away for the down payment on a house.
But let's be realistic guys. I've got a Savage SS 4.6 set square in my sights. And that $$$ will be burning a hole in my pocket. That WILL be my new ride for the summer.

as of november 31 I was officially debt free.....I'm thinkin a new Xray and engine/pipe set...start another savings account for my daughter that my ex has no way of touching...and get her some new clothes and maybe a mini-t and look for a nice used sectional sofa......

Good Job!

Not to sound like the an old fart dad here but you younger guys should tuck half of your money away. Open an IRA and but some away every chance you get. $500-$1000 a year for someone in their 20s goes a long way looking forward to old age. If you pay attention to the news you will know this is an important issue that you need to start dealing with sooner then later.

Being and staying debt free is something that most people don't understand. Every time we turn around a new credit card offer comes in the mail and its tempting to to get as many of them with the highest limit possible. This is all fine and dandy as long as you pay them off each month. Interest will kill you and create a bottomless pit that can keep you berried for life. Don't fall into the trap.

With the price of real estate, unless you have a huge amount of help, owning your own home will be nothing but a dream. Think about your future before you make recreational purchases. It very well could be and RC now or a refrigerator box later.

Just some words of wisdom from an old man.
Signing off from my cardboard box somewhere in the west,
-Ed
