Good Job!

Hey thanks Eddy
I actually have been faithful about my IRA since I was 23....I've managed to put at least 100bucks a month into it...unfortunately I told my IRA mngr to get into Cytrix alot about 4 or 5 yrs ago and if anyone follows that stuff...I lost my ASS.....not totally but a good chunk.....anyway since I've been where I'm at now with what my job matches I've avg. 250/mo to make up for the big loss.....I definately need to curb my hobby spending a little but who doesn't.....on top of all that I put 10% into a savings account every check.......I started being concerned about this when I saw a financial advisor speaking at NYU when I was 23...she said if you take 100/mo and put it into low risk investments avg 10% when you retire you should have in the neighborhood of 1,000,000 bucks......I find it funny that most of the people I saw in the lecture were looking down on me cause I was pretty freaky lookin then....but now I see those same yuppie looking preppy assholes sweating their beemer payment and credit card bills, I wonder if any of them think about putting money away now....or are they still saying "When I get out of debt I'll start doing that"........HMMMMM...just food for thought everybody....

I really should be planning a head for my retirement more than I do. I'm really lucky that I work for a company that has such a crazy retirement program. This is how they work it:

Calc 15% of what the employee makes that year. Take that much money from the company profits and put it into the employee's retirement fund. That account as whole for the entire company then collects interest over the year (managed by and outside company).

They call this "Profit Sharing", and that along with the good medical benifits (blue cross blue shield for the entire family) is why I'm here. I've been here 7 years and right now I have about $35,000 in my retirement account. That's like ~$400 a month.

EDIT: god, I'm such a freak at times...

hopefully get a new engine for my little ricer. Only if I pay off all the debt I just got into.lol

not bad BF.....my only problem is I don't own a house....I just purchased some land in central FL but nothing that's liveable for a while....I'm already priced out of the market where I live and it sucks......

I am also debt free. I WILL NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD EVER AGAIN, I put 75 dollars a week into my 401k and my company puts 20 additional. So I am either going to buy a mugen prospec or xb8. Does anyone know if Will still has the bundle pack deal?

Whats a Tax Return?

Unfortunatly, I'm with ed... Had to actually dig into my 401K to pay hospital bills for my wife... there went 20K. I'm pretty certain I'm going to be paying 2K in taxes on that alone... I guess since we have 27K in an IRA and another 40K in my 401, it isn't all bad. But it sure sucked to throw that money at a hospital that didn't really help us...

Glad to see others getting new toys though!

I am greatful for the gift my parents gave me when I was still in my 20's. They started an IRA for me. I don't even see it as money ... outta sight outta mind. As far as tax returns ... I really don't get much WHEN I get one because like Eddy, I am self employed. Only time I get money back is if I overpay on my quarterly estimated income. Thank goodness for not having any debt as well. Only things I gotta pay for every month are cell phone bills, phone bill and cable. No rent since my wife and I were given the first floorapartment of the 3 family house. Car payment for my Tahoe is finished, my taurus is considered a write off since it's used for work ... everything works out fine.

The only thing I hate is that I don't have a base income that I can count on. What I get is what I put into the business ... LOOK OUT 2005! This is the year!

Well, back to what I'm gonna do with a tax return, IF I get one ... I'm gonna spend it on my wife. She deserves it, considering what she puts up with when r/c's are in the picture.

Some Tein SS Adjustable Coilover shocks (for my Nissan Spec V)
A new exhuast manifold, short ram air intake, cat back, and exhuast (same as above)
New 1/8th buggy (still on the fence with this one).

You you all know I'm not pissing all my money away, I AM investing in an IRA through work, at the maximum I can contribute. The best part is the company matches so it turns out to be a nice chunk of change being invested every month.

Payoff my Car insurance for the year, payoff my loan & X-mas credit card bills. That should take up the whole amount.

I don't get tax returns, but i am going to start private stock trading. Gonna go up to canada for like 3 weeks and learn then try to get my lvl 7 trading lisence, then i'll be set. I'll be starting an IRA and all that as soon as i get a job. Gonna try to get a new engine/tranny/rear end for my '67 mustang as well as some paint. Then i'll work from there.
