I have seen these little things on gas tanks that people have made to open there tanks easier, mostly on buggies and i would like to make one. any tips? :smoke:

there are a couple of ways to make these. First one....take a zip tie and tie it tightly to the cap with the long end sticking up. Take two other zip ties and cut them at the base, now put the base on the end of the first zip tie tied to the tank. Slide it down a couple of inches and stop, now take some fuel tubing and slide it down to where you stopped the 2nd base. Now take the 3rd base and cap off the zip tie. You now have a little grip to pull your tank open.

I use a zip tie sinched all the way down, then cut it to about how long you want it. Then slide a length of fuel tubing on there thats the same length as the zip tie. Then cut the end off of another zip tie (the one that grabs) and slide it on after the fuel tubing and ur done!

VB beat me to it.

yeah zip tie only works, but its better to use fuel tube covering the whole tinhg ( as .21 said) , i recently read in extreme rc magazine that fuel tube is the duct tape of r/c, and you know what? theyre right.

I hate to correct people, but IMO, zip ties are the duct tape of RC.

i have to agree with you too, fuel tube AND zip ties are the duct tape.
not much you can't do with them.
