If your talking about lexan your better off getting a new body.Theres no real way to do it were it would ever look right.:D

Not a bad idea except brake fluid is flamable and going down the drain is an EPA no no. Put bleach down after that and it can actually start a fire. Safe video. (not):(

I agree

I do not agree, I have done it, the lid looked fine repainted. I used brake fluid, it was a tremendous amount of work, very time consuming, but it was an FG 1/5 scale body, and they cost well over $150 for a clear one. Would I do it on a 1/10 scale, no, not worth the time or effort.

When I have have acquired a body that looks like crap, I have just gone with the ol flat black on the outside to cover up the crappy paint job, lol. The OD Green Jeep lid on my crawler, came to me yellow when I got my Clod super, now it rides on my AX10 with an exterior od green scheme, and when it gets rough a fresh coat of green makes it look new again.

I recently used the DOT 4 brake fluid to remove the paint from my baja bug, and took me 6-8 hours of soaking, scrubbing, soaking, scrubbing, and in the end was very happy with my new paint scheme but it was a pain in my ass.

6-8 hours of time, the cost of the brake fluid and cleaners vs. a $30 shell. No way.
Unless it's a really special lid that is no longer in production, I wouldn't waste that kind of time on it.
