how to flames

ok i got a new body for my stadium truck and i want a cool paint job i was think like ghost flame i got a compressor and a air brush but what else do i need and could suggest colors i like black or blue so any help will be great. also what do u use for tape

If you want to do ghost flames you could use the blue and add pearl to it when you spray the flames which would give it that ghost look because the light will reflect off the pearl, I have done this painting diecast cars and comes out sweet! I like to use 3m blue masking tape it bonds well and if you make sure it has good contact at the edges it wont bleed through.

Nitro, I'm not saying this to wiz on ya or anything, but whenever I have a question and am thinkign about making a thread, I do a quick search for it in the search part up on the top. 90% of the time ya can find your answer in there without even having to ask, and a person can gain knowledge twice as quick, cuz the answers are already answered. Again dont take this the wrong way, just thought Id let ya know. Be sure to post pics of your lid to when your done.

I suggest Liquid Mask ..... I used tape on the first body I painted and liquid mask on the next 2 and after using this stuff I swear I will NEVER consider using masking tape again.

I just finished up a 69 Charger for a buddy and there in no way I could have gotten the detail without liquid mask.

4 layers of liquid mask.

tape, never.

I used to use old 2 liter coke bottles to practice on.
Wash it out real good, remove the label, and carefully cut the bottle in half without cutting yourself.
Mask it out with whatever you choose and paint.
It will give you a good feel for the airbrush, and it gives the realistic feel of painting a lid from the inside out.
Also, if you screw up, who cares.
It's better then ruining a new body.
After you feel comfortable, give it a shot.
Just some advise.

could done better but the guy at the lhs gave me a lid for rc10 and it does not fit the evader st because of the shocks so i had to cut out the hood
