How to customize body??

Hello all.

This is the body I currently have on my trx4. This was a defender with the longer wheelbase, I got the shorter wheelbase kit and installed it since I never used the defender body. I kept this body (which was the same length as the defender) but now is looking a bit goofy and it scrapes the back when trailing/crawling, I'd love to cut it up and make it just a cab and open in the rear like the injora hard bodies, I haven't found anything that might fit but I'm wondering If any of you have customized a roll cage for either cheap or free l, I realize I might be asking for an impossible task but I'm about to buy 3 redcat ascent 18's ( my 2 kids want one plus me ). Another reason why is because I have a clear jeep comanche body that I'll do eventually but I'm not ready for that, I would like to keep using this one for as long as I can.

You can build your own cage with styrene. Styrene is really easy to work with. With plastic weld and a heat gun, you csn do anything with it. It can be bought in bar stock, tubing, flat sheet, I-beams, C-channel, etc.

I've used the reusable plastic straws to make roll cages. Hard plastic ones. They melt together pretty well. I also used 550 cord with the guts out and clear nail polish to wrap them. Pretty neat looking. Not super strong, but cheap.

The bed on my FCX24 is made of acryllic, with stamped tin glued to it. The uprights are square styrene tubes cut to length, and the wood planks are bass wood. Just need to get a little creative somtimes.

I got the proline gladiator for mine, and I had the stock wheelbase for the kit, which I think was a defender. You can put the stock wheelbase back on to make it better, find new post holes, which moves the body forward, or trim your fenders a little. I completely did mine custom, cut out the bed, and trimmed the fenders like a mad man. Also took off the bumpers and rock sliders.
