to get the carbon fiber look most guys are using shelf liner (aka tool box liner) you can pick this up at most hardware stores or sears.

The carbon fiber effect can be done in a few ways. The easy way is to buy the carbon fiber decal sheet which I think is available from XXX Main. To paint it, first you need non-skid drawer liner that is specifically in a checkerboard pattern. I found mine in the kitchen section at WalMart. Cut it so it's a little bigger than the area you want to paint. Figure a way to secure it to the underside of the body. Masking tape should do fine. Try to get it to sit as close to the body as the curves will let you. Then spray a few light coats of black paint. Let it dry between coats. And try to keep the can or airbrush perpendicular to the body at all times. Once you've thrown about 3 coats of black on, peel off the shelf liner. Then back the whole thing. If you're using an airbrush, you may want to try a mix of black and silver until the color is just a bit lighter than regular black. If you're using cans, try something like a metallic charcoal or regular silver. When it's done, it will look like this:

nice paint job candyman. What brand chrome paint did u use? i used chrome paint, i think Spaz something but, i painted a t-maxx F-350 extended cab body outside, and i had flames, it was so cold outside, the paint molecules came together, so the whole body had a crackle effect. i pretty much lost the chrome effect, but the crackling effect looked good. have to find a pic of it.
