with an airbrush, or a rattle can? Light color or dark?

A question that gives birth to more questions!!

Laquer or water based paint?
How many colors?
How good do you want the lid to come out?
Do you like Fig Newtons? <--- Incredible .. ain't it?
How thin do you want to thin the paint?
If your using an airbrush, are you spraying right out of the bottle or are you filling a color cup or external airbrush bottle?
How good did you shake that rattle can and did you warm it up?
Are you painting in warm, dry conditions or cold, damp conditions?

Even with the answers to these, I still couldn't figure it out. :(

What size body? How many coats do you like? I can use up to 6-7 3/4 ounce bottles of the laquer paint. If you wanted you could probably get away with 2 bottle on a 1/10 touring car but it would be one color.

It always took 1 small rattle can to do a single color body with a little left in the can for me.

What would happen if we determined that it took like 1/2 an ounce?

i use that paint sometimes for backing coats to faskolor. on a TC body, if layed down right, one bottle should be plenty. but i also usually back the final paint job with some rattle can white or silver.

One bottle should do. PLEASE, keep in mind, it will be MANY THIN coats to get the pearl effect right. DO NOT throw on heavy coats. You will just be pissed off with the paint job when done. You will want to back it with either bright white or race silver (you can get the rattle can version for your backing process)

You will want to back it when you are completely done with the regular paint job.

One can (backing) and one bottle of pearl should be good.

I have to disagree C but I guess I paint different. Espeically with pearl colors 1 simple bottle is NOT enough. I will leave it at that because this is my opinion. reminds me of a song, "My name is Mac Mall and this is my opinion, my opinion." Ok I'll spare you all of my gangstadum.

He's only shooting white and backing with white or silver. One Pactra bottle SHOULD be enough. He's not doing prismatics.
