gallons you have ran before a rebuild.?

I know it depends on, break-in, how hard you run your mill, and what kind of tune you run....

But On Average how many gallons? 5, 6? less, more?

I have a sirio .18 that has 2 gallons through it. I'm about to start #3 and I'm debating to slap the turbo button in and runs 30% till I need to rebuild it.

Then when I do rebuild It I'd like to do a little Porting work to it. I'm gonna Thermal coat the piston, and dry film coat the sleeve. Prob a waste of time in a RC mill. but I own my own business and its not gonna cost me anything to do it.

I run the mill pretty hard. but It still has nice compression.

I say go for it and do it now.

Then you will have a more accurate gauge of what the work and changes will do for performance.

I would say that on average, 6-8 gallons of regular usage would do for rebuild time. And even longer if you dont mind a slight loss in compression.

Yes, I've seen ones needing to be rebuilt in under 1 gallon as well.

But, average, 6-8 would be my best guess for everyone.

Any good links of porting. I seen one for a trx .15 woul dIt be the same basic's of my sirio .18

I'm gona do a google search now to see if anybody has ported a sirio and has pic's

It will be ok to increase the nitro content and add the turbo button at this point. You will need to shim the head properly if you increase the nitro content past 25%.
30% is the maxx nitro content reconmended for that mill and one additional thin shim from kit #S18030010 is what you will need to get the maxx performance. Your mill should run cooler.

I think I have the shim kit in my boxt already I'll have to check again and make sure.

I dug up a old post with tons of porting info. I may look into doing that 1st.

could you psot link to the thread about porting that you found? it may come in handy one day if i decide to port an engine

.12's - .15's = 2-3 gallons
.21's = 6-7 gallons

.16's, .18's, and others, dunno.

i have a trxpro.15 I've had 8 gallons thru it, it was my first engine, on my first truck, so i leaned it out as far as it woould go and still run(not knowing the dangers) and well it is not around any more (GLAD TO SAY)
