Been looking around to upgrade to steel cvd's for my summit because i have probably gone through at least 10 shafts by now but every pair I find just don't look like they will work on the summit or the e-revo. I have a link to ones I was looking at and the ones shown in the link look the same as all the others I have seen. I just don't see from the pictures how they hook up to the output shaft of the diffs. The pins on the end of the drive shaft look the same as the output of the diffs. They don't have the cup that goes over the output of the diff. Any help is greatly appreciated.

why are you going through so many shafts?
i have never broken one the only think has has gone bad are the boots on the shafts

I run 3s on my mERV and have never had a problem with shafts at all. That being said I do use the MIP CVDs on my RC18s.

I constantly have the little pins in the bottom or top end of the drive shafts break at least every other run. At first I had no issue. And i have never used my lipo. They always breaks when i decide to drop in the second nimh.

and King when you say the boots what are you talking about because when i say the pins break i believe thats what i am talking about. I will try and take some pics soon.

here are some crappy pics of whats going on with the pins breaking. Also hpi killer the link didn't work and I couldn't even find anything but the 1/10 models on the MIP website. And also back to the original question lol, I finally realized you have to tear down the truck and connect the CVD to the actual inside of the diffs they do not just bolt up to the truck like the stock ones.

You have to open up the diffs and replace the fittings on the diff itself.

Thanks hamz, just sucks because i just had the truck tore down to replace the ring gears in the diffs and shes back together now. I did find these shafts but they are integy so I dont really want to mess with them but they do just bolt up so they would be easier to install.

also the drive shafts on the merv and the mini summit are a bit different, so maybe the ones on the merv are stronger. I have seen people say they put them on the summit so I may order a pair and see if they fit on the summit and work bettter.

This is a weird one. Never had a problem with mine in the past. The joints will usually pop before pins sheer.

Thanks for giving me that problem. My merv matts old one was breaking them all the time. I switched to traxxas cvds and problem solved. I noticed that my knuckles have a ton of slop and I will be switching them out with rpm soon. It is weird my son's merv hasn't had a single issue with driveshafts. And he drives like a maniac.

They're Integy and Integy is known for selling garbage. They are a waste of money IMO.

if my gear mesh was too tight could this be ther cause of the driveshafts continuing to break?
