How Do I create a signature?

I want to make a signature with a pic or maybe a design plus a quote.. How Do I Do That?

Use your favorite image-editing software, make a signature, upload it your gallery. Once it's in the gallery, right-click it and select properties to see the url path. Copy the url path, then in your profile, click Edit Profile and in the signature option, link the image by pasting the path between the tags [ img ] and [ /img ]. (Omit spaces within brackets.)

First you will have to create your signature picture. No more than 400 Pixels wide by 60 Pixels high.
Next you will have to upload that picture either to your gallery here on RCNT or on some webhost.
Finally, go into your member profile and enter the full path of the picture and where it can be found on the net into the signature box.

Heres is an example of what you would type:

[ img ] http://www.myhost.com/image/mysignture.jpg [ /img ]

the [ img ] and [ /img ] is vbcode to allow the board to display pictures. As long at the full path to the picture is between those tags your signature will display. Just remember to take the spaces out when you type it in for real.

Some people will actually help you make one for you. I can make one like mine but I'm still a n00bie to PS7 so Imaging and flash isnt really right up my alley. I know mayhem, NC nitro, mijime, and even Error401 might be able to help

BTW, robriguez, you said the limits are 400x60 but your sig pic is way taller then that. Af far as I know anything over 440 stretches the browser for 800x600 res users. Sig pictures shouldn't ever stretch a users browser. The height for sig pictures cut off is like 100 but can be exceeded (robriguez).

Nice car by the way robriguez, did you nab that off the net or is a someones you know?

Basically anything that creates a pixel canvas and can import words and pictures will do the trick.

Its a 1949 Mercury custom street rod that I found on the net. The original pic was 1280x848. So I cut it down best I could to keep it looking right.

Man I am not the best at editing a pic or what ever so with that said I am going to need some help.. I looked in my programs and all I have is "Paint" Will that do it for my needs?

The easiest way to create a sig is to find a picture you like on the web somewhere, copy it, shrink it down to a size you like and save it.

Paint isnt that great. You will be limited on what you can do once you have a pic but its a start.

thanks Robriguez you definitly rock what rides do you own? I just own a never run NTC3 and a HPI RTR 3 ( btw I am selling) .I am trying to get my ntc3 ready. The body I think I can do soon but the engine ...you should look at my posts!! Maybe you can help me!!!!:w00t:

Did you know that is illegal? Did you get permisions to use that picture? Sorry but I have my own stuff on the internet that if someone stole I'd be pissed. My stuff is protected under the constitution along with everone elses and anyone stealing it would be better off smuggling drugs then taking my poop.

It is only illegal if he is claiming that it is his own (which he is not), and if he is using it to gain some kind of profit (which he is not). So, stand down on the whole internet legality thing.

As for signatures, jon2, welcome to RCNT. There are a number of talented graphics manipulators on this forum. You could shop around and PM the individuals with signatures that you like. They will direct you to the artist or help you as best they can.

Hey SKY MAXX Thanks for helping me out there. I do just look for a funny picture to get a laugh or an ooooohhhh! nothing more. I am still having some problems about it. paint on xp pro kinda sucks but what else can I do.?

If you have an image that you like, you could e-mail it to me (check my profile for the addy) and tell me what you'd like done with it. I'll take care of it, and get it back to you in a usable format.

Next, you will need a host for the image. RCNT is kind enough to allow its members to have an image gallery with up to 2MB of graphics. Thus RCNT can host your image. Then you just link to it in your signature (I can give you the directions on doing that a little later...believe me it is not difficult).
