is too dirty? Believe it or not, the patch of what once was grass, looks far worse off than the buggy!

So obviously the buggy had lots of fun! Trouble is while my tune was still pretty much perfect, she kept cutting out at idle randomly.

It sounded too rich, but leaning it just made it get hotter.

Richening it back up and raising the idle, just made it idle higher and get hotter.... but STILL cut out randomly after a high speed run or two.

Only thing I'm slightly concerned about was I discovered the airfilter was off the carb (long before the buggy was that dirty), but there were tiny mud splashes on the carb throat.

She had about 3 tanks of fuel through it after that, though I had to keep restarting it every few minutes and it blew a plug.... I figured she would have cleared out any dirt by then.

Any thoughts? Or should I just see how it runs next time again?

EDIT: Maybe I should clean it first and fit a new airfilter :D

I believe this one will need:

* Remove electrics.
* Remove air filter
* Balloon over carb.
* Into the shower with a stiff brush
* Dry with a hair dryer
* Cover in GT85.
* Refit electrics.

Clean it thoroughly then run it again and tune it. With that amount of crud it's easy to obstruct the air intake and that can throw the tune off.

Just don't let Rolex see it. His heart is fragile and this might finally do him in...

If we can make him think it's the Ugly Truckling v2, he might be alright.

It's okay I found this under all the mud tonight.

Had to do this though! Took the electrics out and made a little shower cap for the carb first of course.

Just hope it runs still!

Use it, even abuse it, just enjoy it. :)

I do something similar to my 8ight. Remove engine and electrics, and hose down followed by hairdryer and wd40. :D

I bet the missus was well impressed with that. If I did that i'm sure there would be a letter in the post for me with the word DIVORCE at the top of it.

Good to see its getting used properley and not sat on a shelf just lookin pretty.

BASH ON!

Don't say that. Rolex is in shock already from the pictures of a dirty truck. Hearing that it's not on the shelf, well, that could push the poor old guy over the edge.

Man, maybe I'm just getting old or something, but I just couldn't bring myself to get a rig that nice, that dirty. I know it washes off, but I'd be so concerned with the weight of the mud dragging on everything, water getting on the engine and in the bearings, ect... It wouldn't even be any fun. And after all that work, fighting the old engine, breaking in the new one... You forget to secure the air filter?! Shame on you Paul C!;) Rigs lookin' good again though.:)

Matt you need an intervention. You're about 20 years away from being another Rolex. Tell me are you wearing pants today?:hehe:

If your wife says "Get this damn car out of the tub so I can take a bath" you might be a redneck. Wait I hear that and then some. The first Pic was great. No one would make spare parts if the RC's just sat on shelves.

The buggy got messed up on a meet up of local bashers in Belfast. Organized through ModelSport UK forums. Turned out to be a good day. I brought the Losi and a Heli. :)

Video isn't mine, but it's not bad, there is a short section showing just how the Losi got so mucky.

Don't want to make Rolex pop his clogs and it's something I put out of my mind when I was washing it, but I counted at least 4 small dog piles in that patch of grass and I'm fairly sure they aren't there anymore!

The heli at the end is me flying. 1st flight in about 8 months, it comes back slowly with a bunch of nerves again to boot.
