By the price, quality, bundled equipment (R2R buggies), what my LHS carries and has parts for, and the support from the manufacturer. Btw, I own a PRP Swift.

I looked in a few LHS's and noticed a few with the Storm and was talking to a staff member there and he was telling me about it. He said they do a lot of hop-ups for it there so i decided i wanted that one. I took it and have been happy with it! Since then both HS's have closed down and i can only get parts from the internet!

I did a little looking around and got the opinions of itsmesag and zandor. But the deciding factor that made me get my Ofna PBS is that that was the only buggy in the hobby store and I do a lot of impulse buying. But as fate would have it I love the buggy and beat the hell out of it and it keeps coming back for more. Sometimes inpulse works out well.

i asked what people thought in this forum. I came up with the Hot Bodies Lightning.

i asked around, researched and was choosing between the lightning or the x-terminator deluxe. i got the x-t because it came with all upgraded parts and it's really easy for me to get parts for it

best bang for my buck + potencial for future upgrades

ofna lx pro, see my gallery.

I deffinitely beg the differ... but we are all full of opinions. He just wanted to know how we made our decisions, not what we have and would tell him to get. Don't turn it into another argumentative post on what buggy is better... this is the kind of comment that does just that.

acually they are 2 different threads. One is how u chose ur buggy and the other is stating which buggy u think is good for each catagory.

i was sitting here one nite.and said to my self i want a buggy.ask a few q's..about the hyper 7 pcr peps said it was good so the next nite i bought it...

As Soon As Zandor Told Me At Work He Just Purchased A Buggy I Couldnt Get ToThe Phone Fast Enough To Order Mine, Minutes Later I Had Purchased Myself A Buggy!:w00t:

I'm fortunate enough to have allot of hardcore buggy bash buddies. I get to drive their rides to c what I wanna actually buy.

My new Mugen MBX-5 rocks for the price. The buggy market can be insane in price but welcome to rc...EH.

Yeah... although I love mine, I will definitely be getting the Mugen MBX-5 as my next one... whenever that will be:classic: Other than that, there really isn't a bad buggy out there anymore. It's all up to what you want to pay, what bundled equipment you want, and if you have any prefrence on other things like the suspension, layout, and so on.

Good point dude. If you look @ the 1/8th Buggy market of today compared to 5 years ago, they've actually made some serious advancments. Your really can't get a "bad" current production buggy. Just don't get sucked into the sometimes hype market that has become Graphite parts. Graphite is a great stiff material for hardcore racing but it's not magic and it's anything but bullet proof.

Get the MBX-5 Was2, hell...if you don't like it I'll buy it off ya. It's the best damn race ready buggy I've ever owned for the money. I thought Mugen was kinda full of themselves until I took this beast out for some serious driving.I hang with $1000+ dollar buggies and get evil looks..hehe.

I chose the OFNA Hyper 7 PCR as my first buggy. If I were to buy another, it would most likely be an MBX5. I love my OFNA, but the parts are really becoming hard to get... The few online distributors for OFNA, have high prices and it seems like everything is becoming back ordered... Not to mention, there is little to no aftermarket support for the OFNA buggies. You will not find Hardcore or Fioroni making parts for OFNA products. Why, I dont really know... I will say this, the OFNA buggies are tougher than nails... Definately the top basher buggy IMO...
Sometimes it pays to spend a little more for a better ride....
Good luck in your decision...

can i ask you all about the MBX5?? how is it? Is it mostly for bashing or racing?? Is it a kit or rtr? and where can you buy tehm??

Research and questions asked were the two methods I used to determine which buggy I would get. The price tag was not such an issue, as I was prepared to pay well for a beast of a machine.

If you want to see some buggies in action, check THIS THREAD for some pictures.

Look through the whole thread as there are quite a few images on a few of the pages.

Aside from that, you decide based on how big your wallet is.

thats awesome..... i chose my r/c's by careful reasearch and asking A LOT of questions. I normally had the money ready but a few times i chose the R/C and then saved up every bit of money i had. I didnt even eat lunch for a couple of weeks.
