He did say sport in his original thread. Where do you get that info from humboldtblazer? I found numbers and names but no car info.

Also, as I later found out, HB and HPI do just work together. They have a "good working relationship" and not owned by the same person as once thought.

That's cool I just look back in this post and see that you say it had to do well in a big race. I am not saying the storm is bad I like all the buggies and have had good luck with the pro. But I am kind of new to 1/8 buggies. Tell you know if I had the money I would get a K2 in a sec. and just bash with the HB Pro.
 
Them race results look good but.... How long has the storm been out? How much would one spend on a new one? And last thing How BIG is GS? Man I am not saying the Storm is bad just that for the money I think the HB pro is the way to go. One more thing HB is new so I waould guess that no lightnings even went to most of the races you posted about ove seas but I could be wrong.

HB Lightning Pro is a great buggy!




(I'm not doing this anymore this buggy discussion has ben played out on many threads. I am no pro nor an expert so I feel like stating my opinion over and over the same way is good for no one. I like Novice Rob and it was fun to back and forth with him about the buggy but its played out)

Hey man that's cool I have no prob. with you!:) It was fun to read and post with you. I said almost the same thing a few posts back they make more than one so we can all pick the one we like best.
 
OK, I can not resist. I have to stir the pot.

Last night, I was at the LHS getting some 20%. I drug my buggy in to ask if my pipe was beyond repair.

There happened to be a GS Storm RTR on the counter. I mentioned to the guys behind the counter that I had contemplated getting the Storm RTR. They both shook their heads at the same time and said flat out the Lightning Pro is the better buggy. (I didn't buy it from them either.)

Giving all credit to the Storm, I think, if I would have asked if the Storm Pro was better than the Lightning Pro, the answer might have been different.

The Storm Pro requires a radio, engine and tires/wheels. That factor, hence, pushed it out of my budget. The Storm RTR and the Lightning Pro were the real contenders for my budget.

I was just delighted to hear the LHS say I made the right choice. :)

Yep I bet your right about thr whole pro vs pro thing. Glad you are liking your buggy. Did you get a new pipe or could you fix the other one?
 
I'm keeping this one for the time being (just straighten it). He recommended the THS Offroad Racing one-piece too. At $80 cabbage it has to wait a while.

My stock tires are in bad shape. I knew they wouldn't last and ran them on pavement anyway. The LHS stocks premounted wheels for $30 a pair. I wasn't able to catch the brand or even see them. I don't know how good they are. These guys know I want to race (they run the track). I don't think they'd steer to a poopy set. Maybe I'll make a 1/8 buggy tire thread...
 
Have to agree with the Lightning Pro being a better buggy!! I know several people that owned OFNA Hypers and Kyosho's. They drove the lightning pro straight out of the box and decided to sell their others. The Hot Bodies are showing up more and more at our local RC track. Already going to get a JR XS3 radio, so I will put that into the Lightning Pro and go RACING!!!!:devious:
 
yep i feel and heard the same thing.. i raced my pro this weekend.. not bad at all..
 
What did you guys do with the shock springs? They seemed kind of squishy to me. I added the spacers in to firm them up, but I think I may end up with the kyosho mp 7.5 blue or white springs.

Buggy was pretty much box stock in the video. Running 5k/7k/1k in the diffs.

I just read through this thread for the first time.

First thing I have to say is MMMMMM, purple AL.
Second, I have been checking out some Ofna buggies (LX Pro and MBR R2) and the GS Storm RTR, and this buggy falls into my budget. I'd be looking for a basher buggy that could also be thrown into a race every now and then. The compatibility with the Inferno buggy makes it even more attractive. Does everyone who owns the HB like it? What would you recommend for diff and spring setups?
