I know he was helping you and thats awesome, it was just funny cuz his last post was supposed to be like 4 posts ago. He put that link in 2 other buggy threads so I think we got a link in 3 links to that now. I think he wants that to be his new home.

It sucks trying to read through a 58 page thread. I'm only on page 6.

Guys, check out my info on the Lightning Pro form down here in Australia.I posted it in the Which buggy thread, which is above this one.

DarthRacer, good luck on that thread it's friggin monster. I'll show up a couple of times as "NitoIgniter" (I went all retard when I signed up and forgot an 'r' LOL)

Darth, it's a sweet buggy for the price. Sell the stock mill on ebay for $75 and buy an 8-port race.

you know whats nice. When some one posts claimed results, I think it would be nice to post a link to be able to verify, but thats just me.

I'm not so sure I'm going to get a HB.
Most of the racers in my area run Ofnas (from the LX Pro on up) and Kyoshos. One LHS in the area stocks Ofna parts. So good luck to you HB owners!!

Do you trully hate the HB car that much that you would imply the guy is a liar?

You know humbold,if i had a link i would of posted it.There is not much info on rc cars on our Australian websites(that's why i'm here). If you noticed in the info i posted ,i left an email address to our national rc car mag.Why don't you shoot them an email about thes results and then post there response ,i'd like to see you eat your words(if your implying that i'm lying).Down here we get all info on race results and reviews just like you guys do through your mags, and all i'm trying to do is pass this info on to you guys, since you don't have any pros driving the lightning in the USA yet.

Don't forget that i race the Mugen mtx3 in touring cars down here,so i know of the exceptional quality and handling of top quality race cars.(these are winning all the titles in tc down here at the moment).Just like the Mugen the Lighning is producing the results down here(in 1/8th buggies that is).I also forgot to mention that the writer of that mag who is racing the car at the moment has not brocken a part on the car in 20 races, sounds pretty good to me for the money.

didnt imply anyone to be a liar, just saying when I post a claim I back it up. Also I do not hate the HB Lightning it is a good buggy.

I'm not getting into the middle of the debate.

I just saw this line and think it may be pushing it a bit.
As a racer, I find this statement a bit hard to believe.

I'm enjoying this debate but when statements like this are made, I have to wonder how many of your other facts may be out of whack.

Carry on gentlemen......

20 Races! no broken parts! That's it! I am buying the Lightning Pro this weekend. I was going to get the MBX 5 until I heard you say that about the Lightning!

I belive that.

I can give personal testimony that the Lightning Pro is hard to break. I've broken nothing in 2 months of bashing. Also, a skilled driver doesn't crash much right? If you have a durable buggy and a skilled driver, why couldn't you go 20 races with out breaking something?

The Lightning Pro has only been around since December of 2002. That's only 8 months. I think it's just a matter of time before people to look at the buggy for what it is and get past the stigma of the cheap buggy.

I also depends on what he means by 20 races. If he means 20 heats/mains then that is only 4 race days. Any 1/8th scale buggy can last 4 race days without breaking in a good driver's hand. Well, maybe not a Storm, but most other buggies can...

Yeah the storm breaks every 2 minutes its a bad buggy......not sucker Goodwill RC havin mofo:cheers:

Good to know that you were not implying that i was a liar.As i said i'm just giving you the info that we get from our rc car mag down here.Thats the same about the 20 race bit,so i don't know if he meant 20 heats.I was about to spend the money on the mbx5 until i read those articles and you must say for the cost of the lightning compared to the kanai & mugen, that its a good buggy(especially for the club racer, which most of us are).So going by the trend down here, i can't justify to myself spending all that extra money on the big names when the Sacker is performing just as well as them.Down here mbx5 costs around $1200,Kanai2 costs $1500 and the Sacker Pro goes for $730,see my point.don't forget "variety is the spice of life".

Like i have said previously these are not my facts but our national rc car mags,Racing Lines facts, thats why i left there email address in the original post,so anywone can shoot them an email and question there facts.:ahem:

I would really like to read those magazine articles you mentioned on the Slacker Pro. Scanning them in would be kind of illegal I guess. Can you still buy the mag? If you would buy me an extra copy and mail it to me, I could make it worth your time. :)

Or you can contact Racing Lines on Email([email protected]) and ask them to send you out issue No 90,June 2003.This is the issue with the centre spread and review of the Sacker Pro and also includes the info on the New Zealand Nationals and the results the writer is having with the buggy.

Forgot to mention also that when you get the mag you wil notice that we get the buggy in blue anodizing instead of purple and we get a different coloured body,i think that's all.

yeah the blue really looks sharp. I sent him an email and asked if I can buy the issue.

Thanks again for the info.

Just received my Lightning Pro,which i got off ebay in the USA.It ended up costig me(including postage) nearly $400 AUS less than what we get the Sacker Pro for down here, and i guess i'll be the only one at races with the purple ano.

I didn't like that purple ano. I took oven cleaner and stripped the ugly purple off. Mine looks like brushed aluminium now. I may have liked the blue better. :) Congrats on the purchase. Nice price too. (272.48 USD)

I have a few more pieces to strip but you can see the progress so far.

Those still reading this thread, I sent an email to the people at Racing Lines magazine asking for a copy of this issue. Here is the reply:

Robert,

Thank you for your email.

The Sacker Pro was reviewed in our Issue #90 (June 2003).

This buggy has been well received both here in Australia and New
Zealand.

Racing Lines is a bi-monthly publication. You can purchase a single copy
of Racing Lines or a 6 issue subscription via Visa from us. The costs
are $A12.95 per issue or $A70 for six issues. Air mail charges add
$A9.50 per issue to the cost.

I'll pass on your suggestion about posting on rcnitrotalk to our
assistant editor, Peter Joyce (aka contact on various R/C car forums).

Thanks again for your enquiry, for any further information or
assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Cheers!
Kerryn
Model Magazines

$22.45 AUD works out to $15.29 USD. I'm going to buy the issue. I would love to copy and paste the article into RCNT, but that would not be fair ro the people that worked hard to gather the information.

If you want a copy, drop an email to [email protected] it sound like they take visa.

Anyone that is still sceptical about the source, I found a couple of links via google.

Place you can buy the mag:

http://www.nzmagazineshop.co.nz/nz-magazine-shop/cover/388/racing-lines/index.php3

Australian Track Directory:

http://localgov.civica.com.au/~morcc/tracklist.html

(something similar to what rc car action does in the states)

The magazine and the article is real. I can't see why he'd make up the other information he has posted.
