What most people don't realize is that most crimes committed with weapons are done with weapons already in the "wild." I haven't seen too many episodes where a suspect walks into a gun store, purchases a weapon and then goes on a shooting spree.

Exactly. Its not a problem with gun lovers either, gun lovers are the ones who legally purchase firearms and take them to the range. Thats who the laws hurt. Murderers arent gonna care if theres stricter gun laws, what do they care about the law?
Its like Ralph said, a mental sickness problem. Not real sure what can be done do help that out but thats the problem.
Why not just make security at schools better? Take some of your budget and get a security gaurd, a better "buzz in" system or what ever else is available and effective when used properly.
No one ever that isnt a student or faculty/employee should ever be on school property anyways unless its a parent that is known to be coming there for whatever reason. No "pop in" should ever be allowed no matter who it is.

The reson thats not going to hapen is money, money, money. All the big ceo's/chairman have this thing called greed. The most famous line's of 2012: IT'S NOT IN THE BUDGET, WE can't AFFORD IT, WE NEED TO LAY OFF. it is bulls***t that america puts money before EVERTHING. Including safety. Things need to change, and FAST....
