Horrible day for those in Newtown, CT

Stupid waste. Horrible loss that had zero reason to happen. It also doesn't help gun owners out by having assholes do stuff like this.

Absolutely disgusting!
I hope the killer(s) is/are still alive though, and I hope they suffer dearly.

Future gun laws aren't about public safety, they're about government control.

+1. It's a case of knee-jerk politics at its best. Although currently I do not currently own any firearms, I have owned them in the past and would like to do so again in the future without a lot of governmental interference as guaranteed by our constitution.

When it involves children it gets everyone absolutely enraged.
Unfortunately, the coward who did this is also dead so he won't be able to answer for his evil.
I guarantee that this will start a whole new war over gun control but unfortunately there's no way to control insanity with a new law.

I feel horrible for those people and children but this is going to have such a impact on this obama assault rifle ban... Its sad that people are so ignorant to think even if there wasn't one gun in the U.S. there wouldnt be violence. It would probably be worse. Bombs and such...

Yes, the lives lost in this tragedy were taken by bullets. But I don't see any outrage or calls to ban knives in light of the 22 children that were stabbed in China while walking to school.

we are hurting as a Nation today, as a result of the tragedy in Connecticut, take a moment of your time, stop what you are doing and say a prayer for ALL who are dealing with the grief of a loss today! sad day for Americans everywhere ! we all sit in our homes, offices, ect and we always think "it can't happen here". today was proof that it can happen anywhere. no words can bring back those who have been lost, all we can do is help each other to cope with the outrage we are all feeling !

Can't even describe how disgusted I am by this, thoughts go out to all the families that lost children and the children that had to go through what they did.

Some kind of psycho, shooting his own Mother, a school music teacher, and then opening up on those innocent young kids, 5-10 years old.

Prayers for everyone directly and indirectly involved.
Three cheers for the police officer, for ending the shooters mental mysery.

When I first saw this earlier today I was enraged at first, then truly saddened. The loss these parents are, and will be going through is unbearable. All I could think about were my two boys, at school, as this was being broadcast, and I couldn't even imagine the pain these parents are dealing with. When my boys got off the bus first thing I did was hug them and tell them how much I love them. NEVER let a chance go by to tell your kids, or any loved one how much you love them, and how much they mean to you, you just never know if it will be your last time to tell them.

What I've not seen reported by the media nor surely not mentioned by the politicians is that CT already has an Assault Weapons Ban(Sec. 53-202a) Bill. Further, Adam Lanza (the gunman) was 20 years old, too young to legally purchase handguns.

The point of all this? The laws where already in place, but a CRIMINAL does not follow the law...otherwise today would have been any ordinary day and not a tragic day that has ruined many lives and hurt families.

While we all express our deepest condolences and try to wrap our heads around how someone could do such horrible acts, against kids of all else. I believe all of us should also be on guard from any of those looking to use the Newtown, CT or any other tragedy to further their political goals.

Connecticut is one of 6 states with the toughest gun laws in the nation.
The guns used today were registered to his mother, his first victim.
I'm telling you, there are no laws to stop insanity.

Archery/Bowhunting.

& with my razor shaving sharp broad heads, I can take down any big or small game animal on earth, and many in water too. Ground squirrels to elephants... gators to carp.

It's quite uncommon for accidental shootings with even a cross bow.

I don't recall many murders, zero suicides with arrows.

As of yet, I've never heard of any one robbing a bank with a bow and arrows...

Only in England are bows and arrows still outlawed in the Kings/Queens woods.
Thanks to a so called outlaw named Robin Loxley of the Hood.
Hahaha, gangsta's wearing hoodies in their hood, couldn't hold a burning candle...

It doesn't mater if he used guns or rocks, the tragity is that a lot of young children died. It's a devastating day that the whole country will never forget. The thought of the parents that had to be brought in to the scene to identify their children is horrific. This type of demonic act is what makes every parent loose sleep. Now because of a nut case we have turned schools into a prison like inviroment. I think stronger gun laws ARE needed, but people need to be held to a higher level of the law if they want to own guns.
God bless all the victims, and and let's not forget about the parents, the sibling's, aunts, uncles, grandparents and so on, as I'm sure they are hurting more than we know.

Had this monster survived, the only fitting punishment for him would be to hand him over to the parents and let them do whatever they wanted to him. And even that would not be enough.

The additional horror to all of this is that the children who survived will FOREVER feel that there is not a safe place on earth.
On a daily basis children are in one of two places where they feel absolutely secure since they are under the watchful eye of caring adults...Home and school. As long as they live those feelings of security are gone. Malls, theaters, public buildings and places will forever pose a threat to them.
There will be stories of some of these kids that are yet to be told as they grow up.

Here's you a news article that I found on Gun violence in Canada. Doesn't look like your program is working any better than ours.
