That was the plan.....then the trials to find what tires are best on fresh kentucky blue grass....

There are a few ppl here who have or who are in process of building a backyard track.
It really comes down to what you want to race on the track.
Grass is great for some ppl. Other ppl like dirt/clay and then theres paved options too.

If its a track and its in your back yard, its GONNA be fun!!!

Done some work flattening and removing roots etc....many laps have been turned in the last 24...at increasingly higher speed as it gets flatter.

If I can get it flat enough I might need a 1rc sprint car with some good dirt tires. Might set up a jump in the middle so it stays an oval with the option to fly if you run a figure 8 pattern instead.

They have I think 4 of the 1rc models at my local....I am impressed I don't have 1 yet...

That Lil truck is a blast, and quick for an scx24...not as quick as other things I run out there. While I am getting it flatter, this guy spends more time out there than anything else.

My ability to get the track flat enough to run the 1rc stuff has not be good. I have gotten some use out of it, testing mods and motors on cars that are way too big for the oval. Today I started transforming it into a track with a different purpose. Now there is a jump, and a sand pit, and the beginning of a more figure 8 type pattern. I have plans that include expanding it but I have to find someone to help with the labor. When I first made the oval, I had physical regrets for like the next 9-10 days. If I can skip that this time around I will.

Looks like there is another option....talk about getting help, get too involved marking out things, push forward solo....much smaller undertaking....I hurt myself less than last time!! Progress!!
