I was reading the manual for the HobbyWing Quicrun 1060 brushed ESC, and, it says for 2S, 12T minimum, and, for 3S, it says 18T minimum, and, yet, HobbyWing doesn't make a 12T or 18T brushed motor that I have found. They make an 11T, a 12T, a 30T and a 40T. For 2S, it isn't even rated to use their own 11T, so what ESC are you supposed to use with it?

You can use the 1080 brushed, but, the G2 version doesn't even show motor limits, and, the standard 1080 says that for 3S, there is a 16T limit, which, again, a motor they don't make.

Use a non hobby wing motor?
Hobbywing 1060s are often rtr type escs and the brand just uses their own motor or a different companies motor. Like modern tamiya kits they switched out their house escs to hobbywing in some kits.

Imo hobbywing seems pretty focused on their brushless motors that they tend not to worry about coming out with new brushed motors. And also most people who run brushed either go with a cheap one on amazon or a name brand like Holmes Hobbies.

Are you trying to go faster? Both 1060 and 1080 are solid and reliable. At that lower of a motor turn you run into thermal and V/A ratings maximums which are not good for constant use. Brushless would be an upgrade.

It was just something I was looking into for a couple of discontinued trucks I have, that don't get ran much. The one, brushless would be a bad idea, because parts are becoming harder to get, and the transmission is all plastic gears, and there aren't really any newer trucks that parts will work from. Currently though, it has an older Arrma (pre Spektrum) brushed ESC and 15T motor in it, and, I know from experience, the Traxxas 12T is too much for that ESC, so I ordered a couple HobbyWing 1060 RTR brushed ESC's new from eBay. Now I'm just looking for the best motor options to pair with them. I'm not looking for extreme speed, since they are both fast enough already, even in grass, but, I am looking for something reliable for long term use. The other reason, I have a total of 8 1/10TH 2WD SCT's, that for my use, since they rarely get ran, I just don't see spending the extra to upgrade them all to brushless, unless it becomes absolutely necessary. So, I am gonna use my two discontinued trucks as a test bed to see how they are on a brushed set up (I have never really ran anything brushed before more than maybe once or twice. Typically, even used trucks I buy that are brushed get converted to brushless almost immediately). 2 years ago, I wouldn't have hesitated to make everything brushless, but my situation has severely changed, so, anymore, my trucks might sit 4 or 5 weeks before they get used, and due to my current situation (medical issues), cost has also became a major factor in my RC choices.

Rated for it or not I have put 11t 550s on similar powered escs. It's fine when the battery is fresh, above 8v. Once you dip below that, the demand from the motor will drop the esc into turtle mode after a full throttle run. Restart, 1 short full blast run....turtle....again..turtle

I'm thinking just pair the 1060's with the 13T, and see how they are. I figure, they shouldn't lose any speed, since currently, most of my brushed trucks are using 15T motors (I somehow ended up with 5 different 15T motors, so, as I build the sliders, I have been using them). The only one I know for sure where it came from was when I bought a used ECX Torment roller. The rest, I really don't remember where they came from. After pairing the 1060's with a 13T, if I like how they run, I'll probably just pick up some Quicrun brushed combos to replace the questionable ESC's I have also somehow accumulated (I somehow ended up with several esc's that I don't even know what brand they are. One, through here, I did figure out was an older Losi one. I also have an Axial one that I have no clue where it came from, and a HobbyWing 1040 that the battery wires were reconnected in the middle, but, I'm also not the only one in the house that buys used RC cars). I just have to say this though (even though some won't get the reference), is it turtley enough for the turtle club?

1060 with a 13t should be fine. ...unless it's not. Throw it in, drive till the battery goes into turtle mode. Check the voltage. If your lvc is 6.8, and you still have 7.3 left....it too much motor

I'm currently talking to my roommate about his Traxxas Slash 2WD (the only brushed truck he owns, which also cleared up the mystery of where these oddball motors and ESC's came from), and he said he has been running a 1060 with the Titan 12T with no issues, for a few months now, so, I figured, since the 13T is a HobbyWing motor that the 1060 is rated for, I shouldn't have any issues with it.
