I was reading the manual for the HobbyWing Quicrun 1060 brushed ESC, and, it says for 2S, 12T minimum, and, for 3S, it says 18T minimum, and, yet, HobbyWing doesn't make a 12T or 18T brushed motor that I have found. They make an 11T, a 12T, a 30T and a 40T. For 2S, it isn't even rated to use their own 11T, so what ESC are you supposed to use with it?

You can use the 1080 brushed, but, the G2 version doesn't even show motor limits, and, the standard 1080 says that for 3S, there is a 16T limit, which, again, a motor they don't make.

Use a non hobby wing motor?
Hobbywing 1060s are often rtr type escs and the brand just uses their own motor or a different companies motor. Like modern tamiya kits they switched out their house escs to hobbywing in some kits.

Imo hobbywing seems pretty focused on their brushless motors that they tend not to worry about coming out with new brushed motors. And also most people who run brushed either go with a cheap one on amazon or a name brand like Holmes Hobbies.

Are you trying to go faster? Both 1060 and 1080 are solid and reliable. At that lower of a motor turn you run into thermal and V/A ratings maximums which are not good for constant use. Brushless would be an upgrade.

It was just something I was looking into for a couple of discontinued trucks I have, that don't get ran much. The one, brushless would be a bad idea, because parts are becoming harder to get, and the transmission is all plastic gears, and there aren't really any newer trucks that parts will work from. Currently though, it has an older Arrma (pre Spektrum) brushed ESC and 15T motor in it, and, I know from experience, the Traxxas 12T is too much for that ESC, so I ordered a couple HobbyWing 1060 RTR brushed ESC's new from eBay. Now I'm just looking for the best motor options to pair with them. I'm not looking for extreme speed, since they are both fast enough already, even in grass, but, I am looking for something reliable for long term use. The other reason, I have a total of 8 1/10TH 2WD SCT's, that for my use, since they rarely get ran, I just don't see spending the extra to upgrade them all to brushless, unless it becomes absolutely necessary. So, I am gonna use my two discontinued trucks as a test bed to see how they are on a brushed set up (I have never really ran anything brushed before more than maybe once or twice. Typically, even used trucks I buy that are brushed get converted to brushless almost immediately). 2 years ago, I wouldn't have hesitated to make everything brushless, but my situation has severely changed, so, anymore, my trucks might sit 4 or 5 weeks before they get used, and due to my current situation (medical issues), cost has also became a major factor in my RC choices.
