Hey everyone! I'm new to all this RC car stuff :\ i bought a fairly cheap one just to get started off at. It is an on road one but some of my gardens gravel so the chassis kind of scrapes the ground. I was thinking the easiest thing to do would be to buy bigger wheels with bigger tyres? Is this possible? And how do i know if they will fit( Are they universal)

Regards

Steven

Not really, on road is meant for smooth surfaces, asphalt, carpet, concrete, etc.

Alien's got it right, HOWEVER, anything is possible....I've seen an X-01 with buggy tires and it was tearing a grass field. I've also seen a Nitro 4-Tec that was lifted and cruising across a field. So on-roads are best for smooth concrete or asphalt, but if you have the imagination and resources, you really can do just about anything.

Thanks guys :). I know it should be on the smoother surfaces. Really I'm just wondering if it is just easy enough to change the wheels over to lift it off the ground a bit. Doesn't need much of a lift. Without modifying everything will it be okay just to change wheels if I can find some?

If you can find some that'll fit, most on-roads don't have clearance for larger tires.

What you could do, and it will take some work, is get some slightly bigger off-road style tires, and longer shocks. Then you'll have a rally car.

Hi,
Welcome to an awesome hobby and fantastic Forum.
Why not get into the hobby a little deeper, & buy yourself a second vehicle for off road fun...
I wasn't getting high enough jumps with my Savage X 4.6 so I bought a high flying
Align TRex 700 E DFC HV 3GX 2.1

Love getting the Get High... feelings.

could i ask quick question about my nitro car. how long should it take for me to get it started

Thanks for the replays guys! Are all 1:10 scale tyres the same? Like will any 1:10 tyres fit my wheels? Also if I get bigger shocks will that actually bring the chassis, floor of the car up?

Also if I get bigger shocks will that actually bring the chassis, floor of the car up?
That is solely dependent on the mounting holes on your A arms and shock tower. Bigger shocks will give it more travel and possibly more ground clearance if you can move where it mounts on the A arms closer in to the chassis.
