I bought a used truck, all it needed was a new pull start, So I bought a new pull start/spin start combo, but the problem is when I went to put it it's really hard to pull and I don't wanna pull too hard in case I break it. Also, it just doesn't seem like it wants to move at all. I have no idea how to get it going and I'm not a handy women in anyway..lol. So I was just wondering if any of you men would know what the problem may be. Thanks :) xoxo

Is it possible you put the one way bearing in backwards? It's the piece that looks like a bolt and sits between your pullstart and your engine. If not make sure you can spin the fly wheel so you know the engine isn't seized.

I never took that out, So I'm not to sure if it's in backwards our not, How can you tell if it is?.The flywheel I just looked that up.. lol. It doesn't spin all the around, only up a little bit then down to where it was before. I really hope the engine is not seized.. what would cause that?:\

You should be able to turn the fly wheel all the way. If it's hard to spin at the top is a sign of good compression. Try pulling your glow plug and see if you can get the fly wheel to spin and see how the pull start feels. If you never touched the one way bearing I'd say thats not the prob.

That's exactly what I would suggest to start with. Remove the plug, and pull the cord, see if the motor will go completely around. If not, most likely you will have more serious, or at least other issues. Try that and let us know what happens.

the flywheel moves and the sleeve is moving up and down, now with the flywheel turning all the way. Is this good now, should I reassemble everything now? will it work? Thank god for google,,lol.. I would have no idea what most of this stuff is.lol

The sleeve is stationary. It's the piston that's moving up and down. :)
It sounds like you have an engine with very good compression.
Since it's so tight now, loosen the glow plug just enough to lessen the compression to make starting easier. Once it starts, tighten it back down.
