Help!!!

my tmaxx is only 2 days old the first day i spent breaking it in and the second i finished the break in and then when out and about to play. at first all 4 wheels were running, later the back to began to slow down, and now the back two dont even deliver enough power to be noticeable. when i accelerate the front 2 wheels do all the work they balloon up and everything. as you know on a 4wd truck if you spin one wheel at least another has to spin (if held) this is leads me to believe its the rear differential. and my truck wont shift into 2nd gear. please help me

Replace the rear diff and back off the slipper.

Exmark I was just having the same problem with my truck and it was the pinion and ring gears. For the front and rear If I was you I would pull the rear diff. and look at all the gears. It would not hurt to take them to your LHS and get them to check them over for you. I could not figure out what was going on with my truck for like a week or longer just ask metalhead he will tell you. They may look good dose not mean they are. I am working on trying to get the gears for mine I as I type. GOOD LUCK

Everything else has to work right for the tranny to shift. Solid, smooth drive line and a good tune or it won't shift.

it my be something as simple as a loose drive cuP grub screw in the rear driveline. i would check those first.

That poor drive cub lost his screw again??? But actually that is a good place to look. I thought I killed the diff on my LST only to find out one side lost a grub screw and the other side a hex pin. Start at the wheel and check everything from there in. THEN check the diff if all else fails.

ok ill check those out but how could a loose grub screw reduce power, the back wheels will spin but not much power is delivered to them probably about 90% of the power going to them is gone

the cup and shaft are male and female. one goes inside the other with a pin going through both to hold them together. if you loose the pin, the friction of the two parts will still try to spin the rear wheels, but it will slip with any resistance.

normally when you loose a diff, you get a lot of popping, grinding, and racket first.

there are pins on each end of the rear drivshaft. one at the trans and one at the diff. there is also 1 at the end of the outdrive where it connects to the diff. the other end of the outdrive should have one of the universal joints connecting it to the axle stub shaft. and a pin under the hex behind the wheel.

if any of these parts fail you will experience the issues you are having.

look for this on the end of the shafts. the pins can come out or break.

yup thank guys i just looked at the grub screw on connecting the axle to the diff and it was gone! thanks for tellin me to check those out before i took out the whole diff
