I just got my firts rc buggie yesterday, and I can't get the thing started. i don't know what to do. can any of you help me.

it's an ofna 9.5 mbx

we need some more information to get past pulling guesses out of our arses...

I will tak a couple of those guesses I was talking about... is your glow ignitor fully charged??? was there fuel in the tank?? were you getting fuel to the engine? do you have a good plug?? just a couple of guesses here...

Also have you played with the needle settings at all you should not have but if you did put them back to stock. Take the Glo plug out and connect your igniter to it and see if it glow's bright red it should. Let us know.

Duk you are in our neck of the woods we can give ya some good help. Later

sorry abut not givving more details. yes it was glowing bright red. all the settings are at stock. could it be the fuel. i dont know if the stuff is good or not its the only stuff the local hobby shop carried. its called power master it 20%

is it for cars specifically? because if its airplane fuel it could cause problems, and are your priming the fuel? and is the carb open a little when trying to start it for proper air flow?

Hey Duk where do you get your stuff from?? Tammies?? RC Modeler??? Please don't say Ultimate Hobbies or Hobbytown. Newayz that could honestly be part of the problem. Does it say what percent nitro and oil it is??

the car came from tower hobbies.com but the nitro did come from ultimate hobbies. it says its 20% and thats all

where is Tammies, is rc modeler in beverton

ya the carb is open and i primmed it and the nitro is for cars

Hmmm Ultimate hobbies kinda sucks really and honestly. They don't have much in the way of parts support. I would honestly check out tammies hobbies or RC Modeler. Hell even Hobbytown in Clackamas has a bunch more parts support than Ultimate Hobbies. I don't know what kind of fuel that is but it kind of sounds like plane fuel as that is what they mostly have there. Go to Tammies or RC Modeler they will be much better for parts support and what have you.

ok thanx for the info. i've been to rc modeler they were really helpful. i go back there tomorrow. thanx for the help

Dude check this link I don't know that the fuel is your problem honestly. Are you positive that you are getting fuel to the carburator and all that. Is it a tank that has a push button primer or are you holding your finger over the exhaust stinger while you crank it over??? Those are the two ways to get fuel to the carb. LMK Check the link I am giving you for the fuel to identify what type of fuel it in fact is. It seems that they have a ton of fuels that could properly run your car.

i prime the engine by holding my thumb over the stinger. the fuel I'm using is the formula-16 20%. the fuel is geting into the crab I'm sure of it.

I was thinking maybe its the glow plug but i've already bought a new and nothing changed.

Have you messed with any of the needle settings?? Sometimes if you have turned the high speed needle too much it will cut off fuel flow as this is usually where the fuel comes into the carb.

i figured it out the poopy glow plug lighter that came with the car was heating up the glow plug enough so it wouldn't start. I wen out and got a rechargable lighter for it and it works great thanx for all the help

Glad to be of help, I kinda thought that fuel just might be ok after looking at their website. Also you stated that it has the right fuel and oil percents so good and congrats.
