i have a guy wanting to sell me an s maxx here locally sorry i dont have pics of it but it has a 2.5 on it and is in pretty good shape.. 2 sets of tires one almost brand new and a few misc parts... i know its a long shot... but just ballpark me what you guys think is a good price for this...

Well... if it's the original 2.5 and not 2.5R and it's obviously been run, but is fully RTR, then it depends on how bad you want it. Hop ups? Stock? Body? Fully RTR?

No hopups, but completely functional:
Low end $125 depending on obvious wear.
high end $175.

I don't want it... but those would be prices I'd go with.

It's an old platform with old axles, diffs, possible weird single speed trans, old engine... not worth much.

i run a rustler with a 3.3 on it and am custom fitting a jato 2 speed tranny at the moment... this is just a little bashing truck i may pick up! got too much money in the rusty to actually have fun with it like i would this s maxx lol

I know the feeling... my fleet has just grown one more truck... I have one that I never drive, but it would break my heart to get rid of it. It's such a nice well bit rig that I'd rather see it on my shelf than owned by someone else...

Just picked up a slayer because I was kind of in your boat. Got a savage that is silly fun and a jato that was plagued with busting crank cases last season and a slayer that just showed up today in pieces for me to mangle this season.

There's something to be said for the small block trucks. Quieter, fast and eats less fuel.

A 2wd maxx is a fun truck. I ran one for quite some time because I got tired of frying diffs. It was my "screw around" truck for quite a while. It started as a 4wd maxx, but threw an FOC in it, took out the front drive train and locked the rear diff. Damn near made me enjoy a maxx again! lol

thanks cool.. lol I'm just getting started in the hobby so only have the rusty which isnt an amazing truck but a hell of a racing track truck! especially with that 3.3... just need something to fulfill those late evening craving of wanting to go play.. lol.. no point in trashing the good truck...here was the rusty before me trying to put on 2 speed tranny...
