Next thing to check is the rear diff. Follow the exploded view diagram in your manual to remove it from the truck. It's a lot easier on the X, only four or six screws IIRC...
Then open the diff and check the ring and pinion gear as well as the internal spider gears. My bet is you'll find chewed up teeth in there.
You can get the diff parts pretty cheap, then get yourself some Ofna diff shims and shim the ring and pinion for the best mesh, just like a spur gear, not too tight to burn up and not too loose to strip.
