Hey guys, I've been having some issues getting my Sportwerks .26 to play nice. Tuning it seems to be a nightmare :( today my clutch shoes got totally worn out and I think it was due to high heat.

I reset the carb back to factory settings so they were quite rich but I'm not sure if I should start leaning out the High first or low. I had a good idle and so I started leaning the High at 1/8 of a turn each time but after some spirited driving for about 2 mins it was reading temps up to 290 and in one instance 300.

I've checked for air leaks and I'm running 20% nitro.

Could anyone throw me some tips on what to do first from Factory settings? I tried following the flow chart but can't seem to get good take off while keeping temps within 230/240 and when I get good take off I pinch the fuel line and it turns off in 2 seconds or so and temps are above 240.

Where am I going wrong here?

Cheers

The acceleration (or take off) is set by the low speed needle. But you should tune the high speed needle first. Make it so you get good top speed with a nice trail of smoke coming out. After that, then you can start tuning the low speed needle.
