Hey..... I am going to purchace a xxx-NT here in the next week and I was wondering a you racers out there what the set-up is.... I know there are hundreds of ways to set up a ST. Just wondering what some of you are running..... only experienced racers reply please.... There are several series XXX-NT's out there, money is not an issue.... Heard good reviews on the RTR but I would prefer a kit if I can figure out a good setup.... Thanks!!!!

I dont race, but, everyone at my track that has a XXX-NT is running the Adam Drake. Of course, some mods to each of them. But not much.

I also have a Drake and love it.

Again, I dont race, but that is what I observed up at my track.

Thanks,
Chris

Cheez it - are u looking for setup sheets regarding camber, toe in, ect... or are u looking for setups regarding engine, radio, ect...

btw - nice sig, lol.

well from what i know there are only 3 xxx-nt's you can get.
theres the rtr sport version, the regular kit version, and then the adam drake kit.

the best one would of course be the adam drake. it comes with all the graphite losi hop-ups already on it. it costs between like 280 and 300 and then you need the engine and radio and all that good stuff.

since you said money is not really an option, i thought of another route you can go (if your heart is really set on a losi then nevermind what I'm gonna write). you could get an associated rc10gt kit and deck it out with titanium and aluminum from places like hardcore racing. i believe these are much stronger and better than graphite but the truck will probably end up costing you double what the losi drake will cost.

thats just my 2 cents

yeah NA, your truck is what gave me the idea to write that.

cheez it- since they dont make too many (if any at all) aluminum and ti hop ups for losi trucks, you would have to get an associated. theres nothing wrong with that however, rc10gt's are awesome as hell trucks.

Thanks... Much... No my heart is not set on the Losi, I have just heard a lot of great reviews on it from the DirtBurners track in ST. Louis, MO ... there is only one RC10-GT, Good call on the aluminum upgrades but doesn't that get a little heavy for competetive racing..... Or have you milled them down to be lighter... Engine wise though, what are you running NA? what do you think about the new .12 TR I hear you can get one on sale at Tower Hobbies for about 90 bucks.... I don't know ..Just need hardware setup decision help... THANKS

I can replace just about any part with aluminum on my xxx-nt. Not that I want to, but companies like Native Racing, Tier 1 and RC-Trix make plenty. There are more too.

Just so you know if that is what you are looking for.

If you want light, the Adam Drake is about as light as you will get.

cheez it - dont let me change your mind about the XXXNT - it is an awesome truck - i am just an associated fan. if i had a losi, and not an AE- i would be just as happy. the TR is a GREAT engine. one of the best - i STRONGLY recommend it.

Sweet .... Thanks a load, I think I will probably go drive an Associated truck a few laps on the track to see how it handles. Then make my pick....

i promise that if you are deciding between a Losi or an AE - there is no bad choice. Combine that with an OS powerplant and u can't lose!

Awesome NA... Where do you race at? The help is great... we are having our 13th annual Kyosho Challenge on Aug 10th and I want to be competive with some of the out of towners that will be coming in with cutting edge setups... from the sound of it after I get set up it will be my driving that keeps me competetive!

i dont race competitivly off-road, but we do bash at an awesome track down here in Florida. I race alot in on-road - i have an NTC3 and enter about 2-3 races a month with that. remember - TO FINISH FIRST- U FIRST MUST FINISH. Having a reliable set up, and being able to drive will almost guarantee u a podium spot in any novice class.

For the Losi XXXNT: RTR, Team Kit, and the Adam Drake. Well, what are the differences between the Team and the RTR?

dont quote me, but i dont think they make the team kit anymore. i have some of the specs in an old 2001 rcnitro mag and have seen a couple on ebay but thats it.
i remember the main thing is it comes with a picco .12 stock. and I'm too lazy to go looking for the mag.
but right now i believe its just the rtr and the drake that losi makes.

If you are talking about just the regular kit, i am guessing they still make it. They still have it at they web site. Is that what you are talking about? Or did there use to be an actual "Team Kit"?
