Well I knew that the price was high but WTF! ? That chassis may be the one but last I checked the NTC3 is a top rated ride without that chassis. I don't know many bashers or even racers that would spend for a chassis that expensive! My friends have really good cars and they do really well! BTW what would happen if they bent the chassis? How durable is it? are there any requirements? Does having this change the way a NTC3 is? Does it alter performance?
First off, how do you consider that it's "SO" expensive? 185 bones for a CNC machined billet chassis that fixes the few remaining issues with the NTC3 is not that costly if you are into winning races.
The difference in chassis' performance is amazing. The biggest gripe any NTC3 driver has, when he has big horsepower on board, is chassis flex which causes a driveability issue called torque steer. Torque steer in it's simplest form is the car darting to the left on power and returning back to the right when the throttle is chopped. Most serious NTC3 drivers buy the Hardcore chassis & carbon radio plate and other chassis stiffening parts. The B.M.I. chassis eliminates torque steer due to it's longitudinal rigidity. The B.M.I. chassis also lowers the center of gravity.
As far as bending the B.M.I. chassis and it's durability, if you can bend this chassis you will have had such a massive impact that you will not have a single component on the car that is salvagable! The chassis is made of billet aluminum.
The only requirement is that you are looking for the best possible performance from the Nitro TC3! Several of my areas local top nitro guys are running this chassis and have nothing but positive things to say. This chassis has been run back to back on our local track with a stock chassis NTC3 with identical set-ups, tires, engines & radios and the B.M.I. chassis car is better by over a second a lap. That is NOT an outrageous claim, it's a true back to back comparison by the average weekend warrior types, not the Joel Johnsons, the Brain Kinwalds, The Barry Bakers who could drive a box with wheels on it and still win.
Let me say that I don't have a thing to do with the B.M.I. chassis either. I don't make money off selling them and I have no interest or investment in them other than the fact I am blown away by them. I am the guy at your LHS that will run a different type of car than everyone else just to be different, I swore up and down I'd never have a Nitro TC3 because EVERYONE has one. Well I bought one, and a B.M.I. chassis to go with it. The only cars I get beat by week in and week out are B.M.I. chassis equipped Nitro TC3s!
I know 185 bones sounds like alot, but I sit here and come up with new innovative set-ups during the week, I buy the biggest horsepower I can get in my G4 or Reflexes, I try 10 different shock/spring combos, I run every type of tire there is on the market, I still get beat by the B.M.I. Chassis NTC3. I spend more in experimenting, motor combinations, exotic parts and time, than 4 B.M.I. chassis would cost me!
