Hi guys,

Really new to the nitro scene, but am after a bit of help if at all possible. I have bought myself an NB16 Nitro Buggy from ebay, and feel like I have been ripped off big time HOWEVER, the first problem I encountered was that when I started the car it wouldn't move. I realised that the rear and front external diffs were shot at, so I replaced them, and the engine wasn't screwed in problem, so it wasn't making contact with the spur gear. Sorted all these out, and now when the car isn't touching the ground (i.e. I am holding it up) all four wheels spin, but as soon as the car is on the ground no movement.

When the engine isn't running, and I move it on the floor, the four wheels seem to lock up and if any more force was to be put on something would snap!!!!!

Any ideas, because if I don't get a break on this soon, I think the wife will throw me and the car out the house lol. It will be too cold to run it soon!!!!

Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. Can you post in laymans terms (I hate being a newbie :\)

i dont know much about nitro, but it sounds to me like you have a clutch issue or some serious binding somewhere. i would say a complete tear down and rebuild to ensure everything is correct and in working fashion.

With the car sitting on the ground, throttle it and see if the clutch bell on the front of the engine is spinning. If it is, see if the spur gear is spinning. Try tightening down the slipper clutch. If it still doesn't move, your next check point will be inside the transmission. You probably have a problem inside the trans.
Tell your wife to chill. Tell her if it weren't for your nitro hobby, you'd be in bars chasing hookers. :hehe:
She'll only encourage you to get more cars.
