Looks like it isn't compatible. I should have looked here first.

Do you recommend any of these over another.
Or would it be better to return the existing TX / RX and get one that is compatible with the R9DS like the Radio Link A series?
Maybe I am being too cheap trying to use this equipment. I see higher end radios that claim to be universal.
I apologize, I should've been more attentive with my recommendations and subsequent insistence that it'll work.
If you haven't given up on the brand I'd say to at least try an AT9S, that's the exact one I use, and trust my hours of handiwork with. There is admittedly a lack of "polish" in some of the interface, but I've been able to get everything I want from it for cheap, saving my money for planes & nitro engines.
I went with Radiolink because of the price, numerous features, and, pleasant experiences with their ground radios, and I haven't been burned yet, which may be lucky on my part. I'll be more careful with my recommendations.
I hear good things about the open-source OS based radios, running OpenTx. I have no experience on them and can't say much as a result, but I imagine that if you're technically inclined then those are probably the best option for power-users who don't want to spend $600+ on a 12-channel Spektrum radio and $100+ on receivers with more than 6 channels.
