I would suggest a buggy, specifically the X-Terminator. A lot of this depends on what kind of style of driving you do. If you want to be able to handle and bump in your way, but sacrafice turnability then go for the savage. If you want to go very fast and turn really well and go off road but not be able to go over huge obstacles then go for a buggy. Also it depends on what your lhs stocks and what areas you have to drive on. If you give us some of this information we can better help you to decide.

Buggy Buggy!

I originally thought that I'd get a monster truck at first, but then I watched a few videos of buggies, and I saw a few of them up close, and I was sold. They are so much fun! I'm sure glad I went with a Buggy.

Of course, it can depend on what the terrain is like. Buggies are good at off road, but the tires aren't especially huge like the monster trucks. If the places where you'll be running consists of rough dirt areas like those made by large trucks or tractors or whatever, the buggy might not drive so well without getting stuck.

What do your other friends drive?

hi guys thnx for the replys.

well my friends drive 1/6 fg. freakin expensive. me and a close friend of mine wanted an offroad. i think we wil be driving on sand, grass etc. more flat ofroads.

i gotta say " the moster trucks really look :whhooo: but i think i like the to turn agressive also. might flip the truck.

the lhs has "carson. protech, gs racing, schumacher, tamiya, traxxas and hpi racing.

is the hpi mt2 any good?

i have the original Nitro MT, and yeah its pretty fun. but if your budget allows id go with a GS racing Storm. i havent really touched my MT since i got a buggy ;) the buggy is faster, more durable, handles better, flies better, etc. dont get me wrong though, my MT did keep me plenty occupied for about a year till i got a buggy. and its still nice to have just for the option of another class of racing on sundays. around here sometimes the buggy class isnt very big (ie. 3-5 cars sometimes 8 at best) stadium trucks there are usually 15+ guys to race with.

I would say go with a buggy and the only buggy made that your lhs stocks is a GS Storm. Many people have GS Storms and from what I hear they are very good buggies. I have a savage and it was fun but it just could not turn at all. I like being to dodge stuff insted of just smashing it over but thats just my opinion. Go with what you like but buggies are definetely the most fun :D

What a bummer. Over here 1/8 buggies are the big thing. On a normal club race day we have at least 12 buggies - on a busy day there can be almost 20 of them. It's sweet!

The funny thing is though, there should be a lot MORE of them, and there should be a lot of monster trucks too, based on the volume of them sold at the hobby shops. I think one of them sold something like 40 monster trucks in the spring time alone! Where are they all? I guess most people get them and either lose interest or just run them in the back yard.

But anyways, I run a GS Storm, and I think it's a good buggy. There's a crap load of upgrade options, lots of people willing to help you with them, etc. The stock GS Engine on the RTR kit is a decent little motor too! And the JR XR3i radio is a big bonus.

not true :).. carson and protech have some. but the storm looks good alright.
the fg marder really rocks with the 23cc engine, but costs a lot of money :horsecrap

if i go with the storm i only need the car + engine. already got a good lynx 3d radio.
you know where i can buy a storm online from the us? the storm is 565,28 us dollar in holland. maybe its cheaper when i order it. my hpi engine was 100 cheaper this way.

Sorry, I have just never heard of carson or protech before. You can find Storms on eBay.

iirc, he's talking about the carson "king of dirt" and the protech "enigma" the enigma is loosely based on a prp swift, but I'm not sure what the king of dirt is the equivalent of.
