Hi...

I have a big problem. I'm unable to get my pinion gear of my shaft.

I have a Lehner brushless motor and i used a little blue locktite on the set screw to keep it in place.

Now that I have bought some different Robinson Racing pinions to try other gearing options i encountered this problem.

How do I get it off without breaking my shaft and or motor ?

I have tryied heating with blowdryer and short bursts with my Pyro Pen in hope of liquifying the locktite.

Please advice.

Heat should have helped. You can pry on it pretty hard and all that will be damaged is the bearing which probably needs to be changed anyway.

I'm a bit confused.
Is the gear stuck to the shaft or are you unable to remove / loosen the screw holding it to the shaft?

In the past I have used a kitchen fork as a removal tool.
Slide the prongs around the shaft and pull. Make sure you don't puncture your hand with the prongs.

If the screw wont come loose, if all else fails, drill it out being careful not to go to deep and damage the shaft.

Let us know the outcome.

I have removed the set screw. It is the pinion itself that seems to be stuck on the shaft.
I guess some of the blue locktite got in there when still "fresh"

Pinion puller. It'll have two arms that slid under the pinion and push through the center hole against the arm shaft.

Thank you for the info about the pinion puller. I will be getting a pinion puller for future use.

I have never before heard of such a thing.

This time a buddy of mine "saved" me

Heat seemed to do the trick. He has a very small pyropen with an ajustable head (both direction and heat)
