Hello Everyone,

I have got my first nitro car, I have read a lot of guides on this site and youtube about breaking in the motor and it seems that I am make some mistakes.

I have set all the needles to their factory settings but my car cannot stay on for more than 1-2 seconds.
Also noticed that there is air in the fuel line , and takes a lot of priming to turn on. I have changed the glow plug but no change in the behaviour.

One interesting thing to note is that the car can only be primed using the press top primer on top of the fuel line not by blocking the exhaust.
it is a HPI nitro rs4

Can anyone please give me any tips on how to fix this problem?
The car is brand new never been broken in.
thanks in advance

If you are getting air in the fuel line than you need to look at getting new fuel tubing. I would also look at sealing the engine to help with air leaks. Brand new you should not have to change anything yet so thats a little worrysome.

Check your tank lid and make sure it's pressed down good and check your fuel line to make sure there aren't any small holes. You may need to turn the idle up a touch to get it running as well and once it warms up a sec you can idle it back down. I have broke a lot of nitro engines in and in my experience they are really finicky for the first few tanks so you may just have to play with it a little to get it running . I wouldn't touch the needle settings they should be set at factory and should stay that way for the first 5 tanks. Read up on heat cycling for break in. It is really about the best method to get the most life out of your engine.

Thanks everyone for your help, I checked the tank under water tonight everything seems about tomorrow I will start it tomorrow and post back here!
thankyou again.

Hey i tried the leak test and everything seems ok, it started but shut off after like 2 seconds. I even opened the idle from 1-2mm a little more but same story. Could it be bad gas or something? Also what elese could i check

thanks

heat the block up with a blow dryer, make sure you are using the right glow plug 20 to 30 needs med. plug. you should have more rich than factory settings.loosen the glow plug a half turn to get it going
