Help ( a vacuum thermos) for school

If there's a chemistry lab or a science room there's a vaccuum pump. Just ask the science teacher, or have your teacher ask them. Isn't this a science project?

Even in my 7th grade science class there was a vaccuum pump. The teacher would connect it to a large bell jar, put a glass of water in it, and as the vaccuum increased, the cold water would boil.
I can't imagine they would give you a 'thermos' project based on insulation alone. Ask the teacher if you are able to use it for your project.

well the point of the project is to find the best insolation. I asked if i can make a vacuum and the teacher got all exited and that is a great idea i can't wait to see. So i just more work on my part. I'm going abouve and beoned. I e-mailed my science teachers, and shoped teachers. If anything they might have a pump at home or a compressor with air inlet valve.

based on bernulis equation... i totally spelled that wrong... if you make a tee of sorts and run air through it ---> T ---> you should get a lot of suction from the bottom of the tee. if not... hell, use a vacuum cleaner, lol.

oh yea. hight pressuer will flow to low presser, the moving air. or yea i could use mu shop vack.

I was about to suggest a vaccuum cleaner if no vaccuum pump was available. You won't get nearly as good of a vaccuum as you would with the pump, though.
A vaccuum cleaner is just a very efficient fan. A vaccuum pump is a piston and reed valve system. Any air the piston draws out, stays out.

now the carb idea doesn't sound so bad. I just need a filter. Does anyone strongly object. I will do it with no fuel, just e-z start.
